What does affiliation mean?6 subjects all A1 = 6 points.
Less 2 points HCL = 4 points.
Less 2 ponts CCA A1 = 2 points.
Less 2 points affiliation = 0 points. -
sleepy:
Some sec schools have affiliations with JCs, so they get bonus points of 2 deducted from their L1R5. For eg., Catholic sec schools have bonus points to CJC, and MGS and ACS have affiliation points to ACJC. But note, they do not have affiliation points to ACSI.

Also note that the max bonus points you can deduct is 4 bonus points. So lowest point you can score is 2, not 0. Although there is one special circumstance where you can deduct to 0 but I can't remember the details of. -

Thanks for the clarification.

By the way, MGS IP is direct route to ACSI, right?
For the MGS O level route, will go ACJC ? -

MGS O level, they can go to any JC they choose, depending on their O level results. Many would choose to go to ACSI or ACJC, although some might choose HCI or RI. -

Don’t think 5th is Temasek Junior College
Dunman High is very strong
4th (as of today) : can be Dunman High or National Junior College
Nanyang Junior College :
although not yet within Top 5, but is catching up, fast
Eunoia JC, still relatively new today, compared to other many-years of established JCs.
But give her another 5 to 10 years from now : possible to be ranked within Top 5, one day in future.
Eunoia has this potential
However, ranking of JCs is not important. Don’t be so up-tight about ranking of JC
What’s important is :
your child must do well at "A" level, particularly if he / she is from an IP Secondary school.
Eg
One may be from a Top JC.
But what’s the point, if amongst the GCE "A" level cohort inside the Top JC , one end up performing badly (for whatever reasons that cause it), ending up with some C and D, at A level ? -

Agreed. If the child has the right aptitude and attitude, they will perform well. I have friends who are not from the top 5 JCs but did well enough to qualify for NTU accountancy course.Don't think 5th is Temasek Junior College
