All About Full-Time Maids

Hi everyone, im new to this forum. It seem hard to find a good maid nowsday, was seeking for either Mynamar or Indonesia maid. Any good opinion from fellow employer?

From my experiences, it really depend on your luck, that's all.

Generally, I have employed Filipinos, Indo and Myanmar.
The ones that will likely talk back after sometime is Filipinos and they won't apologise as well.

All will lie, take short cut and yes spoiled a lot of things.
All want hp, off days.
They also went out when no one were home. The speed of their work will largely depend on whether I am at home or not.

I hope when my kids r older, I can be maid-free. :rahrah:

Sounds like my pinoy maid, I notice the less educated and older pinoy maids wont give in. Always feel that they are right. Now adays most are in their late 20s or are grandmothers with no experience. Hope to get a younger fresh maid in her early 20s.

I have had my Phil FDW for 1 year. Not much trouble except a bit blur and forever on the phone (which we tolerate). Of late, she has become more absent-minded. Microwaved a metal plate, forgot to put food in the fridge…

After hearing some horror stories of helpers advertising themselves on FB, I looked her up and found that she has a NIGERIAN bf!!! When confronted, she just brushed it off as an online romance that she’s not serious about. What to make of it???

Other employers have found their FDW in their teenage daughter’s clothes, wearing their jewellery and posing on FB! Can die or not???

Should I ask her to transfer? Would anyone tolerate her relationship? My main concern is that it’s a Nigerian! Call it racial/country profiling, but a good number of them are crooks and conmen! If she found herself a s’porean or Phil guy, I’d truly be happy for her.

I think it’s best not to confront them, until I am prepared to dish out the consequences to them.
Otherwise, they act blur or admit it, then what?..in their heart thinking…so what you gonna do??? if nothing, then they will just carry on…I really don’t know what I would do if my maid put me in this type of situation.

I hope someone has some idea how to deal with this so I can learn if this happens to me.

Nigerian in Singapore or Nigeria? If here, prepare for her to get preggy on her next day off. If in Nigeria, she may have 10 of them but they are harmless.

Well, she says that he's in Nigeria but I think they have communicated on the phone at least. She's declared herself \"in a relationship\" with him on FB, hoping \"this is the true one\" and the guy's sister is also saying she really likes her...


I feel quite awful snooping on her like that, but I'm not sure if she's being taken for a ride. Next thing I will do is ask her if he has tried to borrow any money from her. I have no idea how they met, or if they have actually met in person.

How will the maid agency get a demerit point? I am new in getting a maid and is shocked to see that the maid agency that I have just signed up with has 7 demerit pts after I done a check using the above link.

Sigh, these maid nowadays are not stupid. Like my maid, she used another name on FB. But i also not stupid, i have saved the url when she use her real name initially on FB. Her name can changed and change, but the url will never change.

Sometime, we have to close one eye too. As long as they dun go overboard, I will not stop her from using FB or phone. They are human afterall.

Not sure about the demerit point system for the MOM website.


I’m ok for them to use phone and FB to keep connected. But if it interferes with their work like when they are posting at 3am at night, yakking on the phone until food burnt and all the delivery men ringing at the door also cannot hear… I cannot take it.

Any work comes with responsibility and they seem to have less and less of it as they get more experienced.
