          For HGS, below 1km consist of more than 90% low density landed houses. So I believe there's not many below 1km. For between 1km to 2km, there's only few clusters of hdb at eunos, geylang serai, small part of ubi and part of marine parade. So I believe there's still good chance if u stay outside 2km. MAny in eunos/ ubi will target MBS. Those at marine parade will target TNS and Ngee Ann. You may try to call the school to check the status 🙂

            Haig Girls admin say if want day 2 update:-

            call them after 4.30 pm to 4.45 pm.

            parents with SC daughters who are scared of Phase 2C balloting at Kong Hwa or Maha Bodhi -
            may consider Haig Girls or CHIJ Katong Convent.

            i)
            CHIJ Katong Convent (Catholic mission school) - 80 % are local.
            Majority are local Chinese pupils, around 20% are Eurasian, Indian, plus other international mixed nationality.

            Katong Convent open 8 classes (240 intake).
            Vacancies = 91

            ii)
            Haig Girls -
            although have Chinese pupils, also have a lot of Indian students who are hardworking & studious (some of them are top students, because their parents show concern in their daughters' education ), plus minority from other nationality.

            Haig Girls open lesser, 6 classes (180 intake).
            Vacancies = 89

            iii)
            Tanjong Katong (co-ed) -
            around 35 % Chinese pupils.
            The rest are Malay, Indian, & other international countries.

            Tanjong Katong open more, 9 classes (270 intake).
            Vacancies = 143

                Hi, need some advice.

                My gal will be registering for Y06 p1. Abit early to ask but i am torn between decision. I am looking at KH or HGS as I am staying within 1km for both schools. went to HGS open house & impressed with the school compound, curriculum & the confidence of the girls who showed us around. understand that KH sure need balloting for P2c except perform PV to secure P2b chance though I know balloting still takes place in p2b. HGS has increased application this year but as of date, 2c should be secured entry.

                May I seek any KH & HGS parents share their experience with the kids for both schools?

                Thank you so much!

                  Hi!

                  From what I read in this forum, it's a small and cosy school with dedicated teachers. I believe the school is in a holding area whilst upgrading their original school and they'll move back soon? So it'll be brand new facilities soon!

                  Personally, I think it'll be a good bet to secure a place there! All the best!

                      I called up the school but they do not want to disclose. Just say to check the MOE website

                        Haig Girls left 2 vacancies.

                        luckily Tanjong Katong open 1 more class, this year.
                        Those PR who can't get into Haig Girls -
                        can consider Tanjong Katong; still have vacancies.

                        http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/#geylang

                        another 2 schools that have vacancies are :-
                        Canossa Convent (temporary holding at Circuit road, while upgrading going on in original school), and Cedar primary (located at Aljunied, Joo Seng area).

                        Cedar (co-ed) is a small school, open 4 classes.
                        because small - so, is a closely knitted school, with caring teachers.
                        A lot of school bus fleet. Some staying in Whampoa, Bendemeer, Moulmein, Potong Pasir, Kallang area also applied.
