        Answer is (3). This is because the the mass of the sponge before it dries out completely in the sun includes some water. The water evaporates and the mass of the sponge decreases.

        However there is some ambiguity to the phrase \"from the beginning to the end of the experiment\". Here I'm assuming the beginning is when its placed in the sun. But some could take it to mean before it was soaked in water and squeezed. If that's the case the answer could be (2).

        Finally there could also be some confusion about \"squeezed dry\". It could mean completely dry - in which case there will not be water left for evaporation. Although you can probably rule that out because further in the question it states \"till it dries\".

              And time shouldn't matter. In any case its not possible to do the experiment at the same time unless we're using different clips.
