Real excite to finally post in kiasuparents! Thank God my dd finally walked through the gates of Pei Hwa this year. She's in Wisdom 1. It has been one exciting ride-and this forum had been absolutely indispensable.

I'm looking forward to networking with all the mums and dads here!

      Cheers!

my girl is also in Wisdom One 😄

Hi! That sure is nice to know. 😄 By the way, any news on the purple file (for ?? subject). Seems to be missing and 'cher has not chased for it yet.

Last year, my P1 girl hardly used it at all as she had another A4 folder bag for her to put in her homework worksheets. The marked ones would subsequently to filed into their respective subject files. The teacher will not collect the purple file.

Oh dear, I forgot to ask mine too. She is sleeping now.

Regarding the chinese spelling, I saw the list. Its really very tough. Goodnes!!!

Wow! My p2 dd hasn't receive any spelling lists...wonder how it's going to be like? Do they give 默写 in term one?

          Our children are in P3.

If your P2 dd is among the top 3 or 4 classes, then got moxie. Last year, my P2 boy (in HU2) did not hv moxie.

I know your children are in P3. I was only wondering why there was inconsistency in giving out the spelling lists across the levels. 😜

Regarding mo xie, from the entries you both wrote, I was freaked out! :!: So, hoping that it'll come later, not sooner, that's all.

First week of school, they were assigned journals to be written in English and Chinese (on various topics though). I felt it was like writing three compositions in a week, she barely had enough time to do other work I assigned her. ;-(

Well...I am sure glad I get support from parents like you with older kids. I can plan ahead. Thanks.

Below are some websites I wish to share to thank you:

Maybe FA3 spelling list is different from HU3? I feel that ours is ok.

My child's list for first unit as follow:-

              Same?

Don't worry! Which class yr dd in? My child was not in phpps yet in P2 term 1, I can't comment. I know not all classes have moxie for p2, like Jennifer mentioned, e first 3-4 classes. Like mine, she only scored 100% once. Tr told me most kids scored around 70-85 % most of the time. Its challenging, but good for the kids to be exposed to such so they can learn.

Same?[/quote]My dd is in CH 2. She just received her English Spelling list. Maybe the chinese teachers did not want to give them a shock  yet...that's why still no signs of the chinese list. I feel faint when I look at your P3 list. 😐 Are the ones in P2 just as challenging? 5 sentences of moxie too? Maybe I should just patiently wait for the list and pray hard 🙏 that we have time to learn.

P2 moxie is one short passage(2-3 sentences), copable for my eat potato kid. 😉 The challenging part was the 'surprise' 2-3 phrases(成语,论语,谚语), but tat is depending on which CL tr yr child got, some gives more challenging works than others.

The above are extras. These are extracted from the \"shen guang\" passage which HU3 is not learning in class.

                      Plus moxie only #3 to #5. #1 & #2 are not tested.

That's why I said: there is a difference in which class the child is in 😉

I am so upset with the relief teachers. The FT was absent for two days since yesterday. The relief teachers left the class to do their own things for most of the periods. Used only 1 or 2 periods to tell story or do Maths revision. No assignments or real teaching.

I just wrote a complaint email to the FT :x
