I managed to contact another P3 parent. He told me that his son told him that they can leave by 2.20pm. I am thinking of getting my maid to standby for 2.20pm pickup and will call the school tomorrow to confirm.

So sorry that I missed your post. Luckily you manage to get the info.

My girl told me its up till 2.30pm, so imagine my surprise when I went to pick her at 2.25pm, got so many parents and students at the gate liao !

She told me that the school bus will send them but I was afraid that she may have got it wrong. Luckily manage to find the school bus and ask her to come down. Phew !

Oh yes, my girl also told me that they need to get the CMP textbook + workbook.

Next week, my girl will be having her house practice on Thursday. So, if she wants to take the school bus, she needs to wait till 6.20pm and come back together with the afternoon session, rite ??

Oh yes, do you have any forms for your boy to sign up any CCA ? Till now, my girl still have not get the forms yet leh.

Any parents from P1 and P2 receive the CCA form already? I observed that for those CCA that has started, it's based on those that they joined last year (in the case of my P2 and P3). I am waiting eagerly for the CCA form as my P2 wants to join the band.

I remember your daughter took art club last year. Will she continue this year? Last year when the kids were given the CCA option form, they were introduced to the different CCAs booths in school that day too. My girl came initially wanted to join Guides because she said they learnt how to make tents and visited the white house too. The next day she changed her mind, saying badminton is a popular CCA. On the third day she considering volleyball. Hahaha. i was hoping for swimming but MBS do not offer.

Yesterday my boy came back with the timings/room numbers for VE and CMP classes. It should be given out before the classes started yesterday or did he forgot to bring home on Tues?

Think they only distributed VE and CMP timing yesterday. My girl received it as well. Personally, I feel that this should be distributed in advance to avoid confusion especially on pick up time.

Is it ok NOT to join any CCA for the 6 yrs in school ?

Oh yes, this year, her teachers did not provide us with their handphone numbers / email address leh. Last 2 years, they provided those on the first day. Is it normal that from P3 onwards, the teachers do not give their contacts ? If it is, then I really find it very strange

Last night I asked her which CCA she is considering joining and she said she wanted to play a musical instrument. I think cos alot of her friends are in band.

I think a lot of kids are in the school band!! However if I am not wrong, the CCA duration is long and it is twice a week.

I think giving handphone numbers is more of a personal decision. It is not so important because I usually will email the teachers and respond time is fast. I just sent an email to my girl form teacher yesterday and got a respond within 3 hours. I have never call up any teachers before actually. You can leave your contact number with school for the teacher to call you back if there are any urgent issues. For the teacher's email address, you can refer to the MBS web site.

I also wonder if CCA is compulsory. However it seems all kids are enrolled in CCA once they are in P3.

Band practise are from 1.30 - 4.30. The day to stay back will depend on the instrument they are playing. Starting from mid Aug, they will also have to go back for combine band practise on sat morning.


My P3 started with the band since P2 and she is inspired to stay due to the following reasons :
1) MBS band always get invited to perform at Istana. She hopes to perform there and see the president :love:
2) Band goes overseas for performance (eg. Gold Coast) and she thinks it's cool
