Are all the teachers in BC good?? My kids just enrolled to Napier branch…thinking of changing teachers…
-
It depends on your luck since teachers are afterall human. My kids have been changing teacher every 1/2 year due to change in timing. So far so good and they have no complaints.
But different teachers have different style. So mark the homework, some don’t. Some are very strict while some are not so… So this is really a subjective question. It also depends on your child’s learning style. Some teaching style may suit him better than the rest. -
Hmmm…you mentioned your kids’ teachers are not bad…you have their names??

Do they take in students mid-term?

Any feedback regarding Creative English for K2? How’s the course n does it helps in term of grammar, writing, speaking etc?
My boy who is in K2 is currently taking PhonicsRead. Quite happy with Phonicsread cos I can see improvement in his reading. However, his phonics course is ending n moving to next level (higher phonic i think). But I think it’s time to expose him to other things instead of just pure phonics n reading which Phonicsread is all abt.
Have called Marsiling branch n they say can join existing class but my hubby is reluctant to join now cos he says our boy wld have missed a few lessons already, kinda lagging behing the class. So I’m planning to let him continue with phonicsread till May then join BC June intake.
Also, understand that BC has two terms? Are the things covered in the 2 terms diff? Thosewho only go for 1 term…are they missing out anything?
thanks -

BC usually go on a thematic approach. So missing 1 term is fine.Any feedback regarding Creative English for K2? How's the course n does it helps in term of grammar, writing, speaking etc?

My 2 older kids (P3 and P2) are in BC. At end of last year, I was trying to find a program for my K1 this year. I looked at BC, LW and LCentral. As my K1 is already on a phonics program, I felt that BC and LCentral will be a repetition of what she is doing in phonics class. I wanted something more than phonics and we went for LW. It was a good choice in our case, because it emphasize on stuff other than phonics. Had a friend who has a K1 but beginning yr baby. So she manage to put her child in K2 BC program, heard she is pulling out as things they are doing are quite elementary.
Given that my older kids are in BC, it makes sense for us to consolidate under 1 school. But I doubt I will let my K1 join their K2 program next year. I will either let her continue with LW or I am seriously exploring Lcentral as I observed that they are alot more academic and that is what I want. -
I have registered my child with LCentral, after completion at PhonicsRead. Went to the review n like their program. It’s want I want for my boy…he’s gd with phonics but needs more practise to be fluent at same time I need him to be able to understand what he reads, able to answer comprehension questions and also spelling.
Called BC…they dun have any assessment for kindergarten, can join anytime thus I find not really structured? Also, I think they cover basic phonics which my son has already done. And with no proper assessment I believe the class will be a mixture of kids who dunno phonics/fluent/mid…etc. But I do admit I find they way they teach via learn n play interesting.
