Cherie Hearts

Yes Admin is right…I fully agreed what you had said. The principal or bosses is just the person to incharge of the school operation. Provide or update important information to parents, run smooth operation to school to give child a school environment and etc. The most important is the teachers over the centre. As i understand they are currently recruiting a few more English teachers too. So far the teacher over there is good rather than you has those nasty teachers who will beat up kids or etc.

Hi Vivan and Chief, thanks for your replies
Vivan, is your kid at this CCC currently? How old is he/she? Any issue relating to environment adaption, meals, bath, toileting and other kids?
I have just visited the centre again, supervisor seems friendly and helpful, furnished necessary information upfront (like stress, anixety, charactisteric, tempermental changes, etc), perhaps to pre-empt us the doubts the parents would expect in months to come… I am considering putting my girl there, when she turns 18 months old in Dec 08. Any advice you could give? -

Yes, he is in the centre now. Currently he coming to 3 years old. No issue on the adaption to the environment accept for the 1st weeks (keep crying). Believe this situation goes to most of the kids for the first few weeks. It also depend on individual kids. So far meal i not sure whether my son like it,Hi Vivan and Chief, thanks for your replies

so far no complain. But happened that day when i paying the school fees one of the parent told the Director that her girl mentioned to her that the food in the centre is nice. WHat i know is the menu is approved by the healthy promotion board and CH is one of the award winner. Potty wise my boy not wearing pamper in the day time before he join the CCC accept for the nap time but really appreciate the teacher there within 1 months they had train him not to had any pamper on during the nap time too. Thanks.
My advice is relax and do not worry much. Anything just inform the teacher or supervisor should you had any doubt. Kids need to be train inorder to grow and be more independant. We cannot be always by their side right. Reassure, you will see your girl changes soon. -
Hi Vivan, thanks for your reply and assurance
We would probably send our girl to CCC near Q3 next year. Wanna let her get use to playgroup near my MIL’s place first.
Could share how did you toilet train your son? My 16 month old just won’t use her potty, basically plays with it. -

Hi Winth,
To overcome the problem of water not being topped up, we decided to fill up another bottle and exchanged it when we visit them during our lunch time.
It is also more hygienic. Imagine the food particles in the water bottle when they drank the water after their lunch and still they have to drink the same water till the end of the day!!
Also, I don't like the idea that they poured hot water into the plastic dispensers as this will caused leeching of chemicals into the water. This could cause some serious helath problems, as studies have discovered.
By the way, when your child was at CH HarbourFront, were you allowed to enter the childcare centre to see him/her? Any idea whether CH staff who have children at the centre visit their children during lunch-time. We were told that the staff who have chldren there would not see their children. I am really sceptical about this.
Hello
Yes, i agree what you both talking
actually my son was in SAF (chevron) for around 1 1/2 month, i found
my son really drink very little water. i keep complainging, but still the same.
i also not allow to go in the childcare and only can put my son there and leave the place, until now i still cannot understand well.
and further, my son always have something bite him, and i complaint also not use, i really fed up. -
hello Minchy
Thanks a lot for your advise

Hi Jenny Pow,
I can understand your frustration perfectly…For not allowing you to enter the childcare centre, they have a host of reasons for that and I will not repeat what I had mentioned earlier in this thread.
From what I have known, there were several outbreaks (gastric flu, HFMD…) at your child’s centre recently. Just wonder how this happened if they are so "strict" with their procedure. By, the way, is your child still at CH Chevron?
One way that we could make our children drink more water is to remind them everyday. In fact, we tried to drill into them the importance of drinking water, especially when the weather is hot. After a while, they will get the message…but still need to remind them just in case.
Also, when we cannot visit our children during our lunch-time, we will give them each 2 water-bottles and tell them to use the fresh bottle only after their lunch. This will ensure they do not drink from the first bottle with any food remnants from their lunch. -
Thank you kwcllf
