Looks like the relief teacher was \"eating snake\"...so irritating and irresponsible!

Let's see what the FT finds out first.

Thank you so much for your clear explanation. Really appreciate it. I will be writing in soon to sign up as PV. Will PM you if I need more advice πŸ™‚

I am studying at Bukit Pajang (Along Upper Bukit Timah) I think I am out of the 2km range 😞

        E3:
Next year will be too late to sign up because you will need to clock up at least 40 hours by June next year. You need to sign up this year in order to render your service. You have to write in within this couple of months while your child is still in K1. You cannot apply after May cos application to be PV will be closed by then. Selection will take some time to confirm your success as PV. If successful, you will be notified and the briefing will take place in September when you can choose your interested areas of service and start serving till next June. The school will try and accommodate.

Are you staying within 2km? Higher chance of getting chosen as PV. Those staying out of 2km or more may be rejected because for phase 2B, they will be competing with RC members, church affiliations and PVs. The school does not wish to disappoint too many parents. For my daughter's year, there were about 40 PVs but not all registered their kids to PHPPS in the end. However on top of the no of PVs, more than 40 parents who applied at phase 2B were not PVs. There was balloting for my daughter's year for phase 2B for those residing out of 2km.

All the best! You can pm me if you want to know more.

Hi, I just pm you. I misread your child's year. Anyway, procedure is the same, except that you have another year to consider PV. πŸ˜‰

The purple file is the Homework file. Last year, my P1 girl hardly used it at all as she had another A4 folder bag for her to put in her homework worksheets. The marked ones would subsequently to filed into their respective subject files. The teacher will not collect the purple file.

Yup, purple for homework. The file that was missing was the \"Dark Blue\" Chinese file. My DS got it yesterday. DS said the bookshop uncle went to the class and ask who wants to buy. Payment can be made today.

Just a hint: she's sitting right in front with another girl. Am real glad she's taking to school really well. Now my concern is her concentration - I think we let her watch too much octo  So far I appreciate the school trying to make lessons fun, kinda like the pre-school she attended.

She's currently having tuition - kiasu huh? - on maths and Chinese. She attended zoo phonics before and that really helped her reading ALOT. Plus she's been hijacking my Tintin comics.

Hope your kids are doing well so far!
My boy also sitting right in front with 2 other girls.

He's having tution for English and Chinese. Seldom used English at home, thus better brush up.

Where are you staying? I am very near to the school, Toh Yi Drive estate.

Wow, tuition at P1. Hope they have enough time to cope with school activities. I am a SAHM so teach her everything myself. Some CCAs are offered to P1 students too. It's good to pick up a suitable one to help the child get used to having a CCA and coping with schoolwork. It will be once a week. My dd had a CCA last year and she hopes to continue this year too. Some need to pay for a 12-week package cos conducted by external coach.

The FT has replied, claimed she has left instructions for the relief teacher and also class assignments for the class and that she would investigate the matter.

I am sure not the whole class made paper balls, my boy for sure (since I found so many bits and pieces of paper in his sch bag) and his partner.
I am glad to hear tat the FT did her part by leaving instructions, but even if no feedback from parents, she should have done her part to f/up wat the RT has actually done in class. Hopefully her reply will be a satisfactory one, not trying to cover up anything.

Thanks for the tip. The extras sure seem 'interesting'... Her Chinese teacher is ι™ˆθ€εΈˆοΌŒFaith 2 FT last year.
I have no idea abt tr mentioned.

On english spelling, out of curiosity, does this year P2 list mention anything abt unseen words?

Yes, there will be 3 unseen words as stated in the sp list. My dd said teacher may give from extra words she taught them and told them to write in My Word Bank book. Last year, they had 3 unseen words plus 2 sentences, may not be across the board for P1.
