Hi sasa, I am SC. I did not reg 2c as this sch only accept <1km for balloting. My hse n the mates' all fall 1-2km. That's why i wonder, if they could reg 2c, why?

Maybe they tried their luck and they got it?

How did you check your distance? Only onemap.sg is reliable. The school admin will use that to check those who claim to be within 1km before they ballot. It is not very possible for them to claim to be within 1km if the address isn't.

If you don't say which school this is, it is hard for us to counter-check the statistics. If you lose sleep over this, the next best thing would be to ask the school why certain pple you know managed to ballot at Phase 2C when they lived outside 1km. They will certainly check it out for you if you know the name of the kid and their address. It is not selfish, coz if it were true, then they should be punished for cheating the system. If they are within 1km (due to other reasons), then you can just apologise and get back your sleep.

I've following this forum a year back and I am very clear the Balloting history and stat of the school hehe... Yes I used one map to check address. I know their block and road name as they are in same cc as my kid. I don't talk much to the moms, we just hi bye when drop off kid. Can call n ask school hor? I know the kids name but not parents. Even my dad asked who and who got in 2c why we couldn't. So I suspect they might use different add..

Yah, just call the school on Monday to kaypoh. Some schools also publish the names of the students who got in successfully on their websites or on their noticeboards. Check it first before you call.

Not sure abt other schs but when I reg in phase 2C, the pink copy I got back will indicate whether I’m within the 1km range or 1-2km range. So the sch will check our address and indicate the sch-home distance…we don’t need to tell them.

If you feel guilty and pity the kid, then let it go. If you buay gam guan, then just ask the admin. If they did the correct thing, then there is no sabotaging. You are just doing the right thing by voicing your suspicion. No harm in asking.

Anyway, I don't really think there is any wrongdoing since most schools are quite diligent over the distance thing. But then, if you cannot sleep, then just ask. I would ask if I were you, but would do it very tactfully.
