My DS is Jh2, the GPA is below 3.0. is this consider no good?

I guess as long as it does not fall below 2 should be OK.In my DS class for 2012 there were 3/4 in Deans list last term and this term not a single one. Most were in the 2.9 to less than 4 in myDS class. What a toughie. There seems to be only 1 in the Deans list 4.0 or > for the whole JH2 cohort is it true? Not sure which class.Biggest casualty was LA-the Dean is a PhD and determined to prepare the students for A level standards as of now. When I looked at the paper it seems more of University standards. Also the standard for Science is very much higher than RI and Hwa Choong IP program from what I hear from secondary school science teachers.

        Hi,

Any idea why was there a change in the JH Dean? Previously, was a lady. Now the JH Dean is a guy. If set such high standard, that means only the cream of the crop, and the very elite from JH2 are able to opt for Advance Lit class in JH3.

It is a critical year for JH2 since they are going to choose the subject combination.

        Thanks for the sharing.
Hello! ^^ I am currently a student in NJ, and I just want to say that it is not just a critical year for JH2 only. JH3 is also a critical year and a BIG step from lower JH. Hence choose wisely the subject combination πŸ™‚

          Hi,

          Still on subject combination.

My DD is keen to take Adv Humanities in JH3. Any sharing on how DD/DS can strive and do well in Adv Humanities class? Or, what are some pre-requisites before jumping in to select Adv Humanties?

Thanks so much in advance for sharing.

It is just a message from the school's library system informing you when a book you borrowed is issued and due. Did you borrow that book? If you did not borrow the mentioned book, I suggest you bring it up to the school's librarian πŸ™‚

Hi, any JH4s/parents know where to find the information and slides about the vietnam trip? The teachers-in-charge mentioned that it would be put up on LMS but I can’t seem to find it yet?

Hi! I'm currently in the jh3 AH class and i had similar questions when i was choosing my subject combi last year. For our batch we were required to get As for GS and IH modules, not so sure about this year though. What your daughter can do is to try her best to score well for IH, and maybe express her interest towards her IH teacher? What's important is a passion for the humanities, as history and geography would be pretty boring if you aren't interested. πŸ™‚
