Long time didn't check-in here ! Last year this time I was :nailbite: :scared:
over my son's PSLE Oral !
Hang in there everyone, this is the last leg, it'll be all over soon ! :boogie:
Then, my greatest worry was that my son will be too stressed & speak 'out of topic' so the last few days, we just R&R. The usual drill (1) get hair-cut, cut finger nails, make sure uniform is ironed ie. neat image (2) A MUST to greet the teachers (I included this in our practise, he always forgets :stupid: ) (3) Keep calm, listen carefully, and ask teacher to repeat POLITELY if not sure.
I still vividly remember how my heart *sank* when he came out of Chinese Oral and told me the picture was old-folks home but I kept a straight face throughout the whole exam. In the end, he did ok for both languages. :xedfingers:
All the best to all parents and kiddos ! 加油 ! -

when u refer to last few days for r&r, do u mean starting from now? :nailbite: -
For me, yes. I stopped all the drilling, made sure he stopped doing work by 8pm, rest and go to sleep early. I reckoned he needed to be fresh and alert to select the right ‘blocks’ to answer whatever picture or oral topics. You get what I mean ?

First impression makes a great difference…remember, the examiner testing is from another school. So remind the child to greet the teacher, whether good morning or good afternoon examiner…same goes for Chinese…早安 or 午安。
Sit upright and give examiner full attention. If in doubt, ask.
After the oral, thank the examiner as well…有头有尾。
Don’t panic…dont stress the child. Or else he/she would forget everything.
Go easy on the diet until next week. Remember to drink water as it has been humid of late…stay indoors too. -
thanks, councillor janet_lee88.
