Is it true that many teachers have left or are leaving? Friend’s relative used to teach there and she said many good trs are leaving.

        Hi Stressedmomma,

Yes, it's true that a few teachers have left for further studies to upgrade themselves. But I know it's for the good of the children.

We have new teachers joining the school and so far the feedback I heard from my children are good. 😉

Some other teachers whom went on sabbatical leaves or Maternity Leaves had returned from their leaves to teach as well.

As MOE also put teachers, VP and P on rotation, so it's little wonder teachers are leaving, not because they do not want to teach anymore but because of MOE guideline.

As Minister Heng has been stressing All Schools are Good Schools, I would like to apply the same statement to TGPS Teachers - they are truly a very committed and passionate team of teachers.

There are always a lot of \"roadside news\" so come and speak to the school and teachers, then you will see a clearer picture than what you have heard.

Of course, there are also teething issues that we parents may face with the teachers, so my advice is talk to the teacher and understand both side of the stories. It will make the 6 years education journey very fulfilling for both kiddo and parents. I am into my 5th year girl for my elder girl and still enjoying everyday. :boogie:

Rotation applies to P and Vp, seldom to teachers unless there is excess staff, which, seeing as to how many classes there are at the school, this should not be the issue. Still if it is, it would be only 1 or 2 teachers that are transferred out.

YEs roadside news aplenty but this is from an ex teacher in the school so yes, i would think it is a genuine piece of news.
Of course I still hope for the best at TGPS. Seeing as to how it seems to be the 3rd ranked school in terms of popularity in AMK after CHIJ and Anderson, it would be a pity if the standard drops.

Been silent reader of TGPS forum as I am looking at putting my kid here.

But these recent comments are a concern.
Also has anyone seen the recent hooha over the sch national day ceremony? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/gvgt-dance-performance-teck-ghee-national-day-observance-today-%2Aalmost-fainted-when-i-saw-%2A-4331792.html

Saw it in the Chinese papers too.

Not sure if the performing group is fr the school or an invited one. If fr the school, what was the teacher and sch thinking, to allow a chinese communist song be used?

very ridiculous right, sing a china Communist patriotic songs during Singapore National Day celebration, right infront of Singapore PM.

Wondering, what the teacher in charge or the person who choose this song trying to proof.

Try to proof, Singapore is part of China?

Do you know the song Lyrics,
                      战士的豪情女儿心
                      心系千万家
                      女兵走在大街上
                      花香引路香天涯
                      平安幸福和欢乐
                      送给祖国妈妈
                      啦啦.....平安幸福和欢乐
                      送给祖国妈妈
                      祖国妈妈

                      =========
Only PRC address China as 祖国

The student are too young to understand it.
So I blame the person who approve it, the person who choose this song.

Can mummies / daddies from TGPS enlighten me on previous years’ orientation programme?

Kids go with the class and parents stay in hall? FOrms to fill?
Anyone knows about bridging classes for those who have not attended kindy?
