All About Full-Time Maids

tamarind:
My old maid was sent back because I caught her sneaking back home in the wee hours of the morning, all made up and dressed in skimpy clothes. After a string of lies and cross-examination, she admitted she had been doing so for some time, and meeting \"friends\" in the middle of the night. I sent her back the same day, airfare and full month's salary paid.Dear all,
If you have a very bad maid, even if you sent her back to her own country, it does not mean that she cannot return to Singapore again.
For the sake of other employers, please email MOM to blacklist the maid. If MOM does not do anything, then post your maid's details in my blog, so that other employers can avoid this maid :

She was back within a couple of weeks. Now she is working at a condo in Meyer Road, still meeting old boyfriends and trying to draw in my current maid and my brother-in-law's maid into the network.
How do I post her details and a picture to this blog? -

Has anyone seen this? 5 clips in all.

Now we know why some maids are dependable but how about the many others that really doesn't bother to win our trust
This clips seems to portray how fragile the maids are and should anything goes wrong, the fault lies mainly on the employers for their lack of understanding but never looking at how we employers bite our nails everyday until the moment we can really trust them. When we're nice and trusting, they might back-stab us and stories like this . . . will never make it to the media :x -
Hi blurqueen! I totally agree with you. We are also the victims but never get media attention. The only media coverage employers get is when they are killed by the maids. At least that is what I see.
-
hiyah peapot, please don’t forget…and the employers will be faulted for every slightest complaint or little transgression.
I still remember the news about the Bt Merah maid who killed her employer and the eldest daughter and then burnt the place. Grrrrrrr -
They have a cloud of support around them. What about employers? Can’t we have our own ‘voice’? I mentioned this HOME group of people. They are measured by how many maids they ‘helped’ (or instigate), how about setting up a group to help employers? After all, who is more vulnerable - babies, small young children and aged or paralyzed folks who are not able to fend for themselves, or ‘poor foreigners who leave their families’ and come here to make a living?
Where’s the balance? -

There ain't one, 2ppaamm. We employers have to fend for ourselves against all the heartache and :moneyflies: that their mistakes and insolence and just care-less attitude can cause us.
Where's the balance?
Which is why my resolve to leave this downward spiral of overdependence has been strengthened.
your other postings on the other thread has helped me move in that direction - baby steps but we'd eventually get there!

Andaiz, yep, we'll all make it there. I have learnt alot from maidless parents here as well, little tricks, making huge tasks smaller etc. I learnt a lot. And I'll continue to learn as well. With all these, all of us can reduce our dependence this group of foreign workers, and the influence on our kids' accent, English, behavior, fears, diet and morals (lying, stealing, opposite sex) etc. We need to empower ourselves.

I sometimes believe, while maids have their place, they can be a social curse.
