In my DD sch for SA2 this is the format.


Oral- Reading aloud stimulus based conversation

Listening Comprehension - Picture matching (MCQ)
Note taking text & Question (MCQ)

Composition - To write a compo of at least 120 words based on a given topic
3 pic are given as stimulus and the compo should be based
on one , two or all of the pic.

Main Paper - Vocabulary (MCQ)
Grammar (MCQ)
Grammar Cloze (wiz helping word)
Close Passage (open ended)
Editing for spelling grammar & Punctuation
Comprehension 1&2 ( variety of items, e.g MCQ,
Sequencing, OE)

Just wondering will our kids be the scape goat for the BANDING SYSTEM, which was announced during the NDR.


Since PM says \"several years\". I am sure it will not be next year, but wondering will it be our 2015.

We will be the first badge to be tested on the new oral and compo syllabus.

Just wondering?...Will it be us again :?

My feeling is YES. As we are first batch of the new system!!!

I think nobody will like the new system.


Hopefully, it will be implemented in 2020.

hate to say that, but that sinking feeling in my heart says that ours will be that guinea pig.


but do not despair, changes or not, we still have to put in our best, so let's take a deep breath and lift our chin up and march forward.

Yesterday, my DD asked me what is guinea pig and why PM calls himself guinea pig (when he was talking about Changi airport yesterday). I tried to explain but I dont think she really understood.


Now I feel like telling her that she (her batch) is the guinea pig for the new Eng syllabus. Will she understand better? :evil:

Why can't our PM says exactly when it is going to be implemented, then playing the guessing games.


Well if we are the first batch \" Bring it On\" We will face it.
But hate the guessing games.

I am going to be mentally prepared for it
