2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take

If even need to ballot at 2A1, then no need to try 2A2 liao… coz that would mean no places left. Go straight to 2B or 2C.

I thought is half of vacancies reserved for each phase after Phase 1?
No ah?
This is what I thought:
400 vacancies
100 taken up at Phase 1, 300 left
150 goes to Phase 2A1
150 goes to Phase 2A2
If got any balance from 2A1 & 2A2, then the rest will go to 2B and 2C (half half) - with new system should be min 40 vacancies reserved for 2C? -
Hi, my family is currently stationed overseas in China, does anyone know of any school below (St Hilda, Pei Chun) that allows parents to serve as PV overseas. We do not mind flying back to Singapore occasionally to know the school and serve as PV at the same time. I am in IT field and my wife is in Pubic Relation/Journalist field
Thanks for taking time for your advice in advance, happy parenting ! -
stonston:
My understanding is that 40 vacancies to be reserved for 2B & 2C (ie 20 for each phase). Registration process for the earlier phases remains the same. Should demand exceed supply at any one phase, balloting will take place. Vacancies not taken up at phases 1 - 2A2 will be added on to the 40 set aside, and divided equally between 2B & 2C.cherrygal:

So if all vacancies are taken up by say 2A1, 2A2 will have nothing, while 2B & 2C will each have 20 vacancies. -
Mambomac:
No harm applying. Maybe your wife can do some PR as PV for them. Write articles about the school for their events and website???Hi, my family is currently stationed overseas in China, does anyone know of any school below (St Hilda, Pei Chun) that allows parents to serve as PV overseas. Depends on what the schools wants/needs.

There is no division between 2A1 & 2A2. It is not divided equally or saying 2A2 must have places left for this phase.
Eg. 300 initially. 40 reserved for both 2B & 2C.
Phase 1 — 150 registered.
Phase 2A1 — 110 registered
Phase 2A2 — Zero
Phase 2B — 20(initially reserved)
Phase 2c — 20(initially reserved) -
Hi stonston,
No division of vacancies between 2A1 and 2A2. 2A2 only gets what is left from 2A1. That's why everyone is scrambling to join alumni now. But for 2014 applicants, it's too late to join now.
Please continue discussion in PM National Day Rally thread.
Hi mambomac,
To even PV, you need to be on call and be available once tasks are given. Parents watch their email accounts like hawks to jump on the duties once teachers send them out. The school will not wait for you to fly back to PV occasionally. That's why most schools want PVs who have flexible timing. Those who work will have to take leave to do the duties.
You can still apply and offer to do your duties remotely since comms is so advanced now. That is only if your expertise is very special and required by the school. Looking at your jobs, it is quite common to find these skills among those located in Singapore.
Please post your question in the All about Parent Volunteers thread. -
