      Hi,

      Still on subject combination.

My DD is keen to take Adv Humanities in JH3. Any sharing on how DD/DS can strive and do well in Adv Humanities class? Or, what are some pre-requisites before jumping in to select Adv Humanties?

Thanks so much in advance for sharing.

Hi! I'm currently in the jh3 AH class and i had similar questions when i was choosing my subject combi last year. For our batch we were required to get As for GS and IH modules, not so sure about this year though. What your daughter can do is to try her best to score well for IH, and maybe express her interest towards her IH teacher? What's important is a passion for the humanities, as history and geography would be pretty boring if you aren't interested. šŸ™‚

Did anyone get spam SMS from \"EUREKA2\" with the following messages:

          FROM NATIONAL JUNIOR COLLEGE
Title: Indonesia Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi
          Issued: 05 Aug 2013
          Due: 19 Aug 2013

or is it just me? :spam:

It is just a message from the school's library system informing you when a book you borrowed is issued and due. Did you borrow that book? If you did not borrow the mentioned book, I suggest you bring it up to the school's librarian šŸ™‚

          Haha.. thanks lebookworkm!

Appreciate some feedback on the promotion criteria in Njc, both junior and senior high.

Does the student need to pass Physical education, National fitness test etc to move to the next level?

            Thank you!

                Hi Angel88,

For junior high, students must obtain a Year GPA of at least 2.0 (an average grade of C) for promotion to the next academic year. There is only Pass (distinction, merit, pass) or Fail grade for PE; not counted towards Year GPA. For National fitness test, I understand that the students need to re-take the test until they pass.

To promote from SH1 to SH2, students must obtain a minimum of 1 Ź»Eʼ and 1 Ź»Sʼ grades or better in two H2 subjects (may include KI) and at least a Ź»Eʼ grade for GP OR a Ź»Sʼ grade or better in the third H2 subject or in a H1 content subject. šŸ˜„

How does NJC compares to RJC, HCI and TJC, VJC in terms of standard?

                      Appreciate your advice.

                      :thankyou:

                        Hi sleepy,
Based on L1R5 aggregate scores (with bonus points) of students admitted to JCs in the 2012 Joint Admissions Exercise :

                        Science
                        RJC - 3
                        HCI - 3
                        VJC - 4
                        NJC -5
                        TJC - 6

                        Arts
                        RJC - 3
                        HCI - 3
                        VJC - 5
                        NJC -5
                        TJC - 7
