There were a few weeks during music lesson that the kids did dance and during PE (i think) they did gymnastics for a few weeks too. After those few dance lessons, we received a letter from the school inviting her to join Chinese dance. Since she was keen, we let her do it.
Subsequently after the gymnastic lessons, they also invited her to join Gymnastics, but I felt it was too much and she wasn't keen too. So we stick to Chinese dance. I suspect they use those lessons in class to select the kids. In DD's case, she learnt ballet when she was in kindergarten (but she has stopped when she entered P1), so maybe because she already had basic dance skills and so was more flexible, they picked her. -

The invitation refers to joining the school team for training because the child shows potential. Hence, it's free.
Note: I am referring to lower primary when CCA is not compulsory. -

Chinese Orchestra sounds more suitable for girls. My DS would prefer hardcore exercises to drain away his excessive energy

Hello greetings… i am new and trying to explore my first post here.
Quick question: is the orientation on Nov 16 compulsory for both parents and child? My DD goes to P1 next year.

My understanding is that orientation day is also when the textbooks and uniforms are sold at the TT campus. Both parents are recommended to attend so that one will stay with the child and take notes on first day while the other purchase the texts.
