About me, my case is similar but I didn’t use my bto address coz worried abt the distance and traveling time. Registered in school nearby. Now worrying it is good thing or not???

How soon must I change my address for registration ? Will there be a min period prior to registration or as long as my address at the point of registration is within that distance I am ok ?

My family actually stays in my parents house. I have my own property which is being used to run my business.

For property tax reasons, my IC still states my property address, while my family is under my parent's address.

I noted that in the event of differing addresses, it was mentioned that they will follow the father's address? Is it possible to follow the mother's instead?

you probably get a better luck in the eastern region.
If you make your selection right, you will have a few schools to \"work\" with. Clementi area is probably the worst choice with all the \"not so bad\" school already very crowded.

I figured out that we don’t have any primary school within 2 km from our house. We would like to send our child to the closest school, but that’s a rather popular one for which I won’t get a seat under 2C or even 2B with distance of more than 2km.
Would anybody know whether there is an MOE policy related to sending your child to the nearest primary school, even though is more than 2 km?

Thanks for coming back to me!

I didn’t visit a school in Singapore, as I am foreigner. My wife is Singaporean (so are our children), but unfortunately her former primary school is far far away from our home.

What I meant is a policy that would give children priority for the closest school to their home, regardless of the distance. That’s exactly the case for us. Have checked on "One Map", but there is really no Primary School within 2km radius to our home(seems a very unique situation). Closest school (around 2.2.km) is Fairfield Methodist, but this one is popular and even under 2B (if accepted as a volunteer) we may not get a seat because of the more than 2km distance.

Hence I thought if distance generally plays a role for seat allocation in primary school, then there should also be a policy related to our case, but I couldn’t find anything on it. Do you have an idea?
