Hi how do we get to Sapporo from Singapore ? is it going to be super cold ? How far is Sapporo from Tokyo itself ?

Any nice scenic trains to take ?

      Hi,

All depends when U going. If mid Dec, Tokyo & Hokkaido combi perfect. Don't just stay Sapporo, must go ski resort. Best skiing in Apac. Powder snow unbeatable and very affordable apartments & lesson. Many English-speaking locals and expats.

Sorry got so carried away didn't answer yr question. New Chitose airport on outskirts of Sapporo is 1.5 hrs by flight from Tokyo. Flights from Tokyo Haneda airport every 30mins. From airport to Sapporo is 45mins JR train ride.

It's cold but my family make do with appropriate winter wear and gloves from Uniqlo. Avoid expensive ones from JL, OG or the individual shops. If stopover in Tokyo first, buy from Ameryoko Mkt or others.

I survived without thermal wear or and wore jeans / leather pants. If timing right, you will experience snowing for hours.

        Hi All,

I am planning for d family (2a/2k aged 12/10) for a trip in tokyo. Plan to do 3 days Disneyland n Disneysea adventure. Then day tour to Hakone area.
We plan for a week of stay in Tokyo n for d rest of free days we just want to explore the town. I am thinking of staying in one of the disneyresort but my hubby prefer we stay outside as no need to transfer to another hotel after our Disney adventure.

What you guys think? Any hotel suggestions is highly appreciated.

          Hi Candy08,

Agree w yr DH tht staying in TKY city central cheaper and more accessible to other attractions. Yr kids are big enough to cover each Disney per day with rest day in between. If discipline, set off early you can cover everything. Best to stay in downtown Disney affiliated hotel with free shuttle service door to door (advance booking required with hotel on checkin).

If want extraordinary experience w family can PM me, don't want to let cat out of bag. Guarantee no TA in SG will offer U.

Another very nice Shinjuku hotel is Keio Plaza (stayed in Premier rooms super spacious, nice view and solid amenities for adults and kids. Unbeatable location w lots of food and shopping at doorstep and sheltered walkway to Shinjuku station. Free shuttle to both Disney and Airport Express stops at doorstep.
I tried getting Keio Plaza though I see they can accommodate 4 pax but the system just refused to let me book 2A2C. Zuji also couldn't get for me. I was very disappointed. But after we returned back to Singapore for more than a week, Zuji called and asked me why I didn't check-in to Keio Plaza. Stupid Zuji.

Though some hotel in the citycenter offer shuttle bus service to the DisneyParks but it may take 1 hour to travel. Or you can take train but it's also a long journey with changing to different lines. Not forgetting after the long day at the Parks. Thus, I would still prefer to stay in 2 hotels. šŸ™‚

                        Kitty:
I noticed SQ has very lousy timing to Tokyo. I certainly do not want to arrive midnight and having to take the taxi to city.

May I know which airline offers direct flight to Tokyo at good timings ?

Actually I have booked through SQ for my trip to Tokyo and I find their timing is great. Departing in midnight and arrive in the morning around 8am and departing from Tokyo in the night around 8.50pm which I find that it provides us with extra time in Tokyo.

Maybe you should try to search your date one day earlier as the midnight flight leaves at 11.55pm.
