All About Bullying

I heard the following from experts
Step 1: ignore
step 2: say to the bully "i am hurted by you. Pls don’t do this to me"
Step 3:say firmly but not fighting tone, " if you never stop i will tell to principal"
step 4:walk away -

Triangular shaped nails sounds scary & destructive!! Tell the older generation to get say something so the nails are trims properly..OMG..
Yea... I was very surprised too when found her nails were cut that way. Luckily only some, not all. Most of them were ok, only a few were triangular shaped. I wonder who cuts like that, and why specially leaving those few nails to be this shape...
My mother-in-law don't have good eyesight so she said to get a neighbour to help to cut. -
Hi all! Does anyone have experience with cyber-bullying? :S

if u talking about resolving cyber-bullying then i dun have.
if u say victim of cyber bullying then i think most of us are.
i term cyber bullying as spreading non-factual info about a person and motive is to attack the person and make them feel hurt while they felt good. -
What if the bully is one of kid’s best friend?
Elder son reported how that little tyrant command others to do stuff for him, play rough and issue threats. I had spoken to ds2 to say No to running errands for that boy and that boy scolded him why tell his mum such things. Luckily my boy trust me enough to tell me stuff. I dug it out via daily conversation, he didn’t even feel that he was bullied, but elder son bystander said that friend is not a good one to mingle with.
My ds2 likes to play with this boy,so he put up with being misstreated, or my ds1 taste in choice of friends are different? -

jedamum, your ds1 has got more stringent rules about what a friend should or should not do. being a big bro, he couldn't stand seeing his lil bro being pushed around in school. that's what big bro do, isn't it?What if the bully is one of kid's best friend?

i'd always \"recommend\" some finetuning to my dc what are qualities of a friend. classify them under just friend, good friend or just classmates. ultimately, we aren't there in school with their friends and learning to differentiate between those 3 classes of \"friends\" is a skill they have to learn and important to learn too, cos that would translate into the company they'd mingle with as they grow up.
talk to your ds2, ask him for his reasons that this \"tyrant\" is a good friend. ask him to list his definition of a good friend and work from there? -
Thanks icymama.
Will talk to him again.
Son is someone who likes fun and games, and it could be that this boy is fun to be around with. I have to be wary that he choose his friends wisely as if the same happens when he is older, he can potentially mix with bad company if he feels that it is ‘fun’ to be around them. At this stage, at least he is still mummy’s boy! -

i do believe that 近朱者赤 近墨者黑, it's good that he's still communicating with you. do keep it that way for as long as possible. i also believe that most, if not all parents dread the day our dc starts clamming up.Thanks icymama.

I agreed with you. Recently, I am shock with my girl telling me she got no friend only two. The rest all do not talk to her else secretly whisper about her. She is quite upset with it and all along I thought that she is handling well with her primary school. But I guess I am wrong to think this way but I am glad at least she tell me else as she grow older, she might not want to tell me. Now, I will make some time to listen to her unhappiness and counsel her on how life it is. -
Monster Mummy:
yes, as parents, we may not be able to solve all our kid's problems. the best is to lend them our ears and shoulders to cry on. i think your girl also should know that we should look for quality in friends rather than quantity. well, that's what i told me girl when she was in p2 many years back. now in p6, i'm glad that she is surrounded by many good friends.
