My competitive streak...I get really irritated when they say they will beat me in Math.Nightmares.:
Quarrelled with friends again today, because I kept trying to demoralise them by saying I will get higher than them...

I don't want to pick on you too much now, but do you think what you say to your friends is kind? Surely you should be encouraging them instead? And if your friends say the same kind of thing to you, then maybe you need another type of friend.icy_mama:
a true friend says what they think their friend needs to hear when they know that their friend may get angry. do u think your friends wants to hear something that demoralise them? nightmares, just focus on your goal ahead. you are your worst enemy. u need to defeat that enemy in yourself before you can move ahead. not your friends. u know what i mean?
Yes...But like I said above, I got irritated...I can't control myself sometimes. I'm too competitive.

That’s why we avoid giving too much attention, and entertaining some children. Doesn’t serve much purpose and it feeds their ego.

Nightmares,
Having EQ is very important. Imagine someone with high IQ but no EQ, the person will still be considered a \"loser\" because no one will want to work with such people or having such people as true friends. So while you have high IQ, better start developing on your EQ now to be a well rounded individual who can contribute to the society. -
MMM:
Thanks for your advice. Technically I'm not usually like that, only when the touchy subject of Maths and Science results come up...Nightmares.:

My daughter is from that school (very obvious from the description of the school) and so far, has not had that kind of experience. I guess, as in any school, there are some who are overly competitive but not all are like that.Today's The ST Forum page has a mother who wrote in to highlight the lack of compassion among top sch students in her children's sec sch.

Ah well. Instead of pushing others down to make myself taller, I should concentrate on pulling myself up to reach my goal.
