I just came back home and check the employment letter. The term said if both parties agreed to renew the contract then employer needs to give her 2 weeks leave or pay. Since we not renewing the contract then why i should pay?
-
BTW i so regret to transfer her out, i should buy a ticket and send her back.

Hi Anna,
If I remember correctly, you only have to pay her the equivalent of the return airtickets and salary of 2 weeks to 4 weeks should you decide to renew her contract for another 2 years and she decided she doesn't want to go back for home leave.
Nothing stated if she choose to continue here but under different employer.
If I have not mistaken, while she awaiting new employment, you have to pay for her food and lodging at the agent's place. That should more or less cover the above air ticket. -
I am looking for a maid but don’t know which nationality should I hire. Any suggestions? I am looking for a maid that can do housework, cook Chinese dishes, and sometimes help out with my 2.5 year old boy.
I have a Filipino maid and she has been with me for close to 2 years but I am intending to send her back early cos I had enough of her.
My previous maid also Filipino but was here only for 3 to 4 months before I sent her back.
My experiences with Filipino maid are not pleasant. Find that they like to act smart, arrogant, always playing tricks, very lazy, unappreciative, and BIG attitude problem. -
Lavis:
I greeted her in the morning first, to prompt / remind her to greet us. After about 2 months, I gave up.... I think she's probably not used to it. Doesn't bother me.... It's more important that my kids greet us.
LOl- ur maid is \"smart\".. Btw, just wondering do you greet her as well? I believe in muture respect..KSmom8:
I tell all my maids to greet good morning and good night, greet guests etc. I think it sets a good example for the kids.
My current Phil maid only greeted in the morning for one month plus. After that, she does not greet at all.... Except on her pay day.
I also say \"please\" and \"thank you\" frequently to her. But I find my maid rarely uses these terms.... now that I think about it.
Maybe it's her upbringing. She's in her late thirties so it might be difficult to inculcate these things in her. But I do feel that my current Phil maid is the most unappreciative and has the worst attitude amongst all my previous maids. -
My friend is looking for maid but doesn’t want to go through agency. If you have any friends that maids are due for renewal or looking for new employer, please pm me. Thanks.

Hi, I just got a Phil maid and she asking me to help her open a BDO bank account so that she can remit money home.
Anyone heard of BDO?
How does your Phil maid remits money home? -
Hi Mrs Ang,
Your Phil maid can go to a remittance branch.
Ameertech Remittance & Exchange Services Pte Ltd (http://www.moneytransfer.com.sg)
Pay2home http://www.pay2home.com/
or Western Union
http://www.westernunion.sg/en/
If your php helper has day off she can go lucky plaza to queue at the banks (PNB etc). There are many php banks there. But the queues are very long if its a weekend day off.
However, my helper told me she'd rather use Ameertech branch near my estate to transfer money to her family thru BDO a/c.
The exchange rates and remittance charges differ across the remittance companies. So you helper may want to check first. Usually they will require the workpermit and you fill in a piece of paper when you remit. Hope this helps. -
Hi all,
I want to renew my maid who has been with me for 2 years. Can I know :
1) is there new minimum salary that I need to pay for Phil maid. Her previous contract amount is $420.
2) I will let her go back for 2 weeks in December. Do I need to pay her salary for the 2 weeks ?
3) any other things to note ? Thanks. -
Hi All,
I’m new to the forum and stumbled across this post regarding FDW, so just like to share my thoughts.
I engaged a Filipino through the recommendation of my sis’ maid through direct hire after conducting a phone interview with her.
I find her pleasant and responsible despite of being task orientated. She does all the household chores and does cooking. On her off days, she’ll even clean up the place before going out.
She’s also caring towards my 8 month old son whom i’m intending to leave in her care after i return to work. She even took the initiative to grind the brown rice for me without having me to ask.
