      Hi all mummies,

Would like to know if any of your child resist doing abacus home work. My gal had been attending for 2months and is still at the beginner level, doing book 116-2 & 116c.

Suddenly now she say don’t wanna do the homework which has to use abacus. But she is perfectly fine and happy doing mental book. Now I am lost whether should I withdraw her ,as she kept saying dont wanna do homework or the abacus book. She cried during last lesson upon entering the classroom.

She is now 3.8months old, in N2.
Would appreciate all opinions from you whether should I continue or stop.
Currently she attending only Tien hsia & Cma.

Hi dont fret over this ok. It is very very common. All cma kids prefer mental over abacus because its a whole lot easier. If kid resist, then stop doing the hw for a few days and try again with a few sums a day. My No2 and 3 are in the cma programme. And it really helps the kids. I can see very clearly my no 2 can think faster and will be able to handle P2-3 maths easily. 🙂

My youngest girl started cma last year when she turned 3. 1 term later we quit because she was a little tired of hw and more importantly my hub was dead against the idea the kid has to attend formal classes at such a young age. For me, the reason I sent her there was to widen her social circle. But anyway girls was upset and later insisted that she wanted to go back and she promised she would do her hw dutifully if she goes back. She resumed the lessons in Dec and till now she is still honouring her word. She just turned 4 this month. Dunno if it works for your child.

Hi, i just found out about this yesterday. Very impressive. Also read that rates is not the same for each branch although teaching method n materials are the same. Anyone knows what is highest and lowest for once a week lesson?

What's the ideal age to send kids for CMA? Is 4 too young? Is woodlands civic centre branch good?

              Thanks in advance 🙂

                    Hi,

Is CMA franchise? Any idea if I do a transfer between centers, do they charge registration fees again?
                    Thanks.

I asked . No need to pay registration fee again . You get back the deposit from old cma centre and you pay the deposit to new deposit centre.

Hi, thinking of sending my son to either Parkway or Bedok center. Any advice is appreciated. Also if referral quote is available, please pm.

Anybody does it privately… ie to get teacher to your house? Save time and helpful if you need to slow down or speed up depending on child’s progress. Just asking…
