Anyone has kid’s with Thomson branch? Care to share your feedback on their ace programme? And their compo/compre programme?

I popped into Thomson branch today to check its programmes. The lady who attended to me spoke in a mix of mandarin and English (I thought she should speak mandarin through out but never mind). I am impressed by her delivery and the content provided to me.

Shortly after hua cheng, I went over to learning point.

I am disappointed to know that while it belongs to the same umbrella as learning point, learning point told me they have different management and do not help parents with kids in both centre book back to back classes.

          Hi Jedamum,

My son joint Hua cheng's both classes (enrichment & compo) since his P5 at the Bukit Timah Plaza branch. Thanks to Hua Cheng, he has made a great improvement during last two years, now he is preparing his PSLE and get more confidence to get A* in CL.

Back to your question, as you did not mention which level your kid is. Personally, I feel that their upper primary class is more tough which has homework and spelling but with higher standard. They start creative wring from P2.

Their regular class is the enrichment program on fundamental parts with combined of oral, listenning as well as comprehension. The creative writing class is more focusing on compo and deeper comprehension traning. Which class to choose is really depending on which part you child needs help or both.

I have heard many comments about Berries being more suitable for preschoolers. I am quite impressed by Hua Cheng (Bukit Timah) PSLE results :100% A/A* and have seen their materials. However Berries does have good materials too so in dilemma whether to stay in Berries or switch to Hua Cheng when DS is in P1 next yr.
            ot

            100% got A/A*? That's very good!

May I know where can I get this info from or can you provide a link? Thanks!
Hua Cheng (Bukit Timah) displayed the PSLE results at their centre
Does this apply only to Bukit Timah branch? I like to know whether the standard apply to other branches.

Did they require placement test too like what LP is doing? Since they are sister company.

The branches are under different managment and the teaching materials are different, the 100% A/A* only applies to Bukit Timah Branch.

Yup I read the raving comments for Hua Cheng (Bukit Timah).

Too bad Bukit Timah is way too far from my place.

Do they usually have available slots for wkends?

I might consider Hua Cheng BT for upper primary next time.

I wonder why different too if they are sharing the same name?
                        :scratchhead:

Thomson is more accessible from my place.
