Hi,


My family just returned from Europe and my DD needs to choose a school for the GEP. She will be entering at Primary 5. Can any parent with children currently in the GEP shed some light on how the GEP is like in NYPS, eg number of pupils, number of classes, need to take HCL. We are deliberating on the choice of school now and understand that NYPS has the largest cohort of GEPers. Any advice is appreciated as we are totally clueless as to how GEP differs from school to school.

There is a mtg for P4 GEPers' parents in NYPS on 30th Jan.
You may want to ask for an invite to this mtg to find out more abt the programme.

one of my sons just completed P6 GEP in NYPS last year n another's in P6 GEP NYPS this year. There are 4 GEP classes with 25 per class. There are no normal Chinese classes in NYPS so even if you opt not to take HCL exams you will still attend HCL classes and teachers will try to familiarize kids with normal Chinese exam format. Not an ideal state but I guess learning more Chinese is not a bad thing. Standard of Chinese is extremely high even I have trouble helping at times.

If Chinese is a big concern you could consider RGPS or Henry Park? Don't know about RGPS but Henry Park has 2 classes with 17-18 per class. Don't know if this is still the case but it was the case for my niece and nephew a few years back.

Congratulations to you!!! Do share with us all the fun as Traffic Wardens! If it is just one hour a day, to accumulate 80 hrs that means 80 school days… it’s ain’t easy!! But think that it is for the future of your kid, so must strive on!

I think it is going to be 2 times a week for 40 weeks (1 year), 1 hour each...

Die die must do...but still hope to jumpstart with those duties that take a couple of hours each trip...
