Hi parents, how much work (past year papers/assessment books) is your child doing a day/week?

Hi parents, how much work (past year papers/assessment books) is your child doing a day/week?

It can one of the following. Lets say for math.

One full paper on alternate days (for going through the motion of completing a complete set)
or paper1 n 2 on alternate day (if have less time n just want the child to focus on one paper at a time.)
or just working on selected questions. Heuristic or direct questions?

I suggest to not focus on just doing \"how many\" papers, but also work on what you want to evaluate at the end of the practice.

is it to catch carless mistakes?
or is it to practice on time management?
or is it to gain confidence that one can complete a full paper?
or is it to just work on selected questions which your child is weak at?
or is it just simply for your child to go through the motion before the big game?

know what you want to get out of the daily practice so that it is more effective.
N in a way, u can evaluate n discuss with your child based on the outcome n objecive of that particular practice.

I feel this strategy applies to any subject too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, can I ask, how many hours a day on average does your child study?

my girl has completed 1 book of the psle maths book recentlyโ€ฆ she wanted to retry the whole book to get a grasp of the "feel" of psle qnsโ€ฆso i got her another brand new book. what we did was i divided the number of pgs out until the last wkend b4 psle. so on avg, she only needs to cover abt 6pgs per day. the last push shd be done b4 the last wkendโ€ฆ and after thatโ€ฆ it will be the rest and relax periodโ€ฆ treating this psle just like their normal exams.

i bot her papers too, and she's also not too keen... diff sch has diff std of papers and it confuse her.. so i encourage her to do the book instd. furthermore, she saw the improved marks in prelim and finally realised that maths really needs practice to proof for the results.
and also needs to encourage them... :rahrah: constant remind her she has only left towards throwing away her bag! ๐Ÿ˜‚
