      Yes. Three Cheers !!!
I survived 2009 with a full time job, 3 kids and without a maid. I'm looking forward to more good years ahead.

Just asked DH last Sunday...do u think we will ever get a maid ?.... we looked at each other and said \"nay..... !\"

Yay!!! I look forward to my 1st anniversary without a maid too![/quote]My 1st anniversary without a maid has since past. Not that I cope very well last year. I'm determine to make it work this year by some improvement needed here and there. Anyway, I received a call recently from an agency. My maid called me up & ask if I need her services again.

I survive handling my kids, my work, my relationship, my parents last year (I forget to take care of myself or simply no time), I'm trying to make improvement this year to include taking care of myself without a maid. So, my answer to my maid (she is a nice good maid if one is very flexible) is a big NO.

        Hi there,

Can anyone over here teach me how to use Scotch-Brite Light –Weight Sponge Mop? Sponge is in purple colour. I read the instructions but I still don’t get it. Spent the whole afternoon pushing/pressing but still can’t figure it out. How do I also remove the plastic cover over the sponge? Thank you 

I have gone without a maid for slightly more than a year. The last maid (Filipino) gave me goose bums and after sending her back to the agency, I did not have any interest in maids.

It’s tough not having a maid, but when I think of the problems they give…forget it. Fortunately, my mum cooks dinner. I will make a soup or something easy for lunch.
Hubby helps with the housework - ironing/keeping laundry and mopping. We are very much happier without a maid. Of course, the windows are not spotless and the house is not mopped everyday.

This is what i do at home...

Scrunch a piece of newspaper, wet it slightly and then use it to clean the mirrors and class doors. It cleans effectively within causing \"streaky\" marks on the surface. Best of all, no need to spend :moneyflies: on cleaning products.

Could try using a piece of newspaper and spraying glass cleaner instead of water 😄 A bottle of glass cleaner won't cost u too much I think  My mom used to do this and it's very effective

                    Hi,

I spray some soap on the glass, then use the newspaper (crunched) to wipe it dry.

                      Thanks, janet

Do u take lots of energy and time just to wipe it dry?

I find cleaning glass very time consuming and esp seeing stains still all over...

                        Hi Joy,

I put a little dish detergent in water, use a cloth/sponge to go over the glass. Then use a squeegee (can get from Ikea, cold storage) to clear away the water. Will then use either cloth or newspaper to mop up any remnants.

For the grilles/metally portion, I buy the white melamine spongelike thing - it gets ride of stains like a dream (and only need to dip into water, no detergent).
