      MeiZi:
My boy went today. Brought by his buddy to the library during recess time. Took a NLB newsletter back with him today. No other further information from him yet ...

Managed to ask DS this evening if he has had a chance to go to the library and he said 'not yet'. He said that must make the 'card' (library?) before they can borrow books.

BTW, any idea approximately when will they make the student EZ-link card?

DS told me that he bought fishball noodles by himself today now that there is no more buddy system. M really proud of him 💋 we were initially worried that he mayn't be able to manage those soup based food.

He said that the classes are all allocated seats in the canteen with their class lname abelled. So he just bought his noodles and ate with his classmates.

DS always told me he dint know his buddy’s name when i asked him abt it. I was telling him that it was rude & shld make an effort to ask if he can’t pronounce it from the name tag etc during lunch just now & Ds blurted that his buddy will call him a f*** if he dare to use his name.

I was so shocked! To think the buddy is a prefect somemore! :x

Don’t think DS knows the meaning of the word but just repeating his conversation w his buddy. Told Ds it’s a bad word & don’t ever use it himself.

oh my goodness! this is bad. my DS also doesn't know his buddy name but he told him that he \"played catching\" with him as well as his buddy's two friends after they had taken their food during recess.

THe EZ link should be around end Jan/Begining Feb.

Once they got their EZ Link card/student card, they can start to borrow books.
However, one suggestion from my son (he is in P2 now) is to have a photocopy Ez Link card. He can used it to borrow books yet not worry that he may accidentally lost it.

Try not to photocopy the Ez-link card as I believes the card will be corrupted because of the photo copy machines.(Causing the Ez-link card with magnetic portions to be corrupted) :frustrated:

Hi H20, any idea if the school library allows for any other means to borrow the books besides the EZ link card. Coz I am thinking that the chance of losing the EZ link is indeed pretty high. Furthermore what sc88 shared is a real possibility that it photocopying may corrupt the card.

Anyone here has any idea which part of the ezlink is actually required for the borrowing? the photo identification? barcode? With that knowledge, maybe we can brainstorm on what other possible means they can bring along to borrow the books 🙂

I believes most of us have NLB card for our kids when we borrow books from the community library/National library. The card stated with our child names and in the records it have our child NRIC Number too. Why not using the NLB card instead.
