just bought this series of books and reading through the first few pages. i felt parents need to put in as much or not, more effort than children to get them started in this..:D one of the challenges is how to do it 3 times a day as my child is in childcare and when i came back from work at night, it is his bedtime already..anyone care to comment?

If u can do once per day before bed time just 15min, then it is already an achievement!

Mine also in childcare. I tried but not everyday. Also depend on the child wants it or not. I have to compete with iPad. I bring out the card, he immediately pretends to be sleeping. 😞

thanks totoro, will try it tomorrow nite to see if i can squeeze 15 mins of his night time attention.

i just started the first lesson with him after spending some time preparing for the cards…well, not very successful as he being cheeky and moving around and dun want to listen to me though i pepper the teaching with analogies.can anyone advise me if i do the correct thing? this is what i tried today.

            1) show him the flashcard and ask him what is it and ans my own question and use analogy to demonstrate the word e.g. yue (moon) looks a moon with some hints from the book.
            2) show him the combined word e.g. ta kou (big mouth) and illustrate to him that words can be combined to give a "new" meaning.

                  Learning is never late 😂
My coming to 6yo has completed the series last year. My 3yo didn't like it so I downgraded her to 二三快读 instead. She is coping well and progress steadily. Target to complete by this year.

I did not use the various games per suggested. All reading through the book, cards were used for daily revision.

Reading this thread has gotten me interested. Saw that some of you started your kids very young and some early Primary. Is it applicable to across such a wide range of age? And what is the difference with 二三快读? My kids are aged 3+ and 7+, thinking if applicable it can be fun to do with them together and help motivate my 3yo son to pick up Chinese and better still don’t have to go Chinese enrichment.

And where is the best place to get the books? I saw Singaporemotherhood forum spree at $29. Anyone bought from there before?
