2013 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

Totally agreed. Parents should have/set realistic expectations. And we must let the child know we love them for who they are and not what they can do, that is unconditional love of your child regardless of performance.
whatever the case, we think we should celebrate for our DC for doing their best...maybe we can even organize one get-together? Just games n food...just thinking out loud. I think our parents also deserve to be praised...for being such great and supportive parents.happyheart:
Actually my point is.. every parent and every kid has their own expectation. Parents and kids sometimes also have different standard. It is ok to set a certain level of expectation but as adults, we have to exercise sensitivity when we speak in public. As I mentioned, there are upper primary kids around when the woman spoke at the top of her voice ( like me, they did not choose to hear but can't help it). You should see some of the kids' faces. Honestly, 25x may be not a good score for parents aiming high but how many of us can really agree that 25x is a VERY LOUSY SCORE?
Let us not put unneccesary pressure on other DC.
My DS1 has medical condition & learning disabilities and we were very happy when he passed his PSLE last year with score of 120s range cos we did not expect him to pass. But when I told a few parents about his score, they commented, \"...so low...how come so low\" -

Im sure he has other strengths as well...with the fighting spirit he has learnt to pass his PSLE, im pretty sure he is going to do his best too in the biggest exam called Life.
Congrats again, Shan.

Although you canβt go to RI, RGS, HCI or NYGH with 250. 250 is already within top 10% & it is consider as a good score. All kids have different abilities & we have to be realistic in term of our expectations. I can tell that Shan is a very understanding & supportive mum. As long the kid has done his best, we should give him a pat on his shoulder. Well done Shan!

no problem...we belong to the same ksp community after all. Let's pay it forward and encourage our fellow parents members too...what do u think of this idea? :grphug: -
DS told me that his FT informed them today that Listening Comprehension will start at the same time so the school won't wait for them even if they have diarrhoea and have to go to toilet.
So we must be careful on what we feed our kids for their breakfast this Friday
