        Hi,

Have 2 kids, older one going to Pei Chun nex year (high chance, dad registered alumnus). I happened to browse some Higher Chinese assessment books recently and was quite `impressed’ by the high std required.

Those parents with kids already there, could you share your experience pls. – How do kids with ave. Chinese ability cope? How’s the teaching over there? Do they ease the kids in or is it the case that they expect u to know the stuff already and request that your kid gets tuition if fall behind?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Vonne, my daughter is no 23, her name is Beatrice. So far she seems to be getting along well with her classmates though she did mention that some of the boys are rather noisy, haha! Oh and she’s been chosen as one of the group leaders.

Vonne, from what I gather through conversation with Beatrice, they are basically the helpers of the teachers - collecting books/work from the team members and then giving to the teachers or putting them in the cupboard. Good to instill these simple leadership skills and responsibilities from young. No, not going for the briefing on Sat. I teach piano and flute on Sat so can’t go. Hubby’s taking care of the kids so can’t go either. Anyway, they’ll be posting the info on the website as well.

I’m going for the briefing on Sat. So far from what my gal told me, there is no buddy system like the P2 will buddy the P1 during recess. Is it like that for last year? Sorry to say but i have never see a school who does not arrange for buddy syst for the P1s.

When my son was in Pri 1 in yr 2008 , the school still had the P2 buddy system . Dont know when they stop the system ? During my son’s first day at school, parents were allowed to go to school for 3 full days and now, we only have half day. Wondering is it due to change in school principal ?
