Anyone can advise is it easy if do on our own via MOM website? We have to go buy insurance our self then submit it to MOM? If ask maid agency do, isit easier? Cos my maid permit expire 12 Oct 2013 and her passport is Nov 2014, later on after she renew her passwort, I have to renew it again with cost? Thanks.

I just recently renewed my maid's contract (Filipino). It's relatively easy perhaps until towards the end (date of the security bond). You first need to get a maid policy in place. I think it is better for her to renew her passport first so that you can have 2 years at a stretch. PM me separately if you are not too clear. Good luck

Some insurance offer more flexibility. I believe those like NTUC Income allows you to extend. This might work in your favor.

Also note that Indonesian passports’ expiry are calculated 5 years from the date of application (unlike SG ones, extends 5 years from original date of expiry). No idea re Phil passports, tho. Again, renewing now (cost about $50 or $60?) may work in your favor. You’ll need to work out the sums.
