      ngl2010:
      No homework today.

The teacher showed time table for after PSLE and DS is excited because there are so many activities (a few excursions, teach computer skills to elderly, etc) 😄

But he said still have CL class for CME.
The fun activities sound fun. Looks like great motivation for not just the kids but also the teachers. No more teaching? Hehe.

Under the previous Principal, after SA2 the children from P1 to P6 will have oral lessons on other mother tongue. For example, the Chinese will learn Malay, the Malays will learn Chinese and the Indians can choose to learn either Chinese or Malay. I think it is a wonderful programme. Unfortunately it was discontinued under the current Principal. I wonder whether other schools have such programme....

During my elder dc’s time, school would arrange ‘payable’ activities such as archery, manga drawing, dining etiquette, etc. There will be a CIP - rubbish picking at the beach. However, most of the time the pupils will be idling or playing board games in class. Actually, I find it a waste of time to have the kids to wake up early and report to school and somehow learning nothing much. Perhaps MOE should allow flexibility of attendance. But at the moment, I can’t think of what dc can do at home too. Some foreign students will take the opportunity to return home early and come back in time for their psle results.

I think letting the kids just hang out with their friends is fine, even if they aren't learning anything. They'll be practising their social skills! They'll be parting ways soon, so a few weeks to spend time with one another is good for them.
