Yes my son is in Sec 1 and not a christian. No problem mixing in. A lot of his school mates are non christian as well. There is no forced activity or any events which caused any anxiety to the students.

What is your concern? Maybe we can help you out?

Thank you. He is asleep now and he’s relunctant due to fact that he may be influenced by the new classmates/ peer pressure if he joins chs.

If he scores well, priority is njc but distance is quite far as we stay in yishun… so I still think good choice is chs.

The name’s a misnomer. It (religion) should hardly be a deterrent at all. It’s more of an unfamiliar environment that’s an intimidation to the kids. My boy took all but 3 months from hating, to start loving his school back then.

We were looking for a school environment which are not so academically focus. CHS offers an unique and proud school tradition and culture. The ip curriculum focus on the learning process, and the school adopt a very open and trusting approach to the students. Not very concern about being the pioneer batch because looking at the pedigree of the 3 partners school, how bad can the jc be?

Appreciate the info; my perception is usually for pioneer batch the school will grill more academically to prove ip program is on par with others; demanding n high expectations are necessary to attract top students n results need to show

Its very dependence on what the school and the parent/student is looking for. I view IP as an opportunity to depart from drill of preparing for a major exam to develop and enjoy the learning process. There is little point of going ip only to be drilling for exams day and night.

Moving away from IP, i think CHS as a whole is not so academically focus.... After all its stated objective is to have \"happy students\"...
