Kinda scary that 12yo r thinking this way :siam:

Sad to read such....
SG future leaders ?!?!?!
No choice..is the T score formula that make them think that way.
As a parent, dont we think we have to inoculate kids the right values from young ?
Yes, definitely.. I only told my children how to arrive at that score..by giving examples..if he his marks = average marks for all 4 subjects, he only got 200 using that formula.
But then he would know that his friends need to do badly so that the average is lower.

I'm in the category šŸ˜‰ But of course I'm worried, trying to pretend the paper is just practice paper.

:rahrah:

Wish you all the best.

some tips:
1. read each line, decipher the sentence, decide how to use the fact
2. write down the working neatly, double check the numbers, operations r correctly written
3. work out the solutions of each working clearly
4. lastly write your answer statement with the correct Unit of Measure (UOM)

I do not know how the T-score is calculated. Neither do my children know what are used in its computation becos there is absolutely no need to know. Just do your best, measure against your own ability. Who cares about whose scores are.

We have a choice to make our children into what type of people.

There is always a choice in everything we do.

Almost forgot this: make sure all stationery for Maths are inside the school bag tonight. no rush in the morning = a calmer disposition to sit for the paper.
