How did he break his fingers? DS's school forbid them to run but children are still children. They cannot run so they play 'push' :slapshead:Please take care of all your dc over the weekends - watch over their safety even at home. Must remind myself too.
DD's classmate broke his finger on his left hand (and he's left handed) during recess after is paper 1 and he had to miss his paper 2.....sad. Wonder if he can retake? -

not sure myself but just hearsay that if too many scorers, papers may b marked v strictly... 鸡蛋挑骨头?
But SEAB wont know how many pupils score full marks until all papers are marked, right? Then to 鸡蛋挑骨头, must re-mark again?Jennifer:
deduct marks for smallest mistakes
what is considered smallest mistakes in Maths?
Maybe I go write email to MOE n ask :rotflmao: see if anyone will reply me :offtopic: -
ngl2010:
Why do you think Sci paper would be easy like Eng and Math, if I may ask?
Thank you for the advice. CL is DS's weakest subject so we can't depend on it. Science is our only hope but it is likely that Science is an easy paper just like English and Maths.notredame:
Never mind about the stars. Overall aggregate is still more important. Try to make one mistake less (depends on std deviation) in the next paper and he may 'get back' the 2 marks. -
ngl2010:
play 'push' :slapshead:
I do not allow my children to play push since young.
One of my neighbour (sec sch student) broke his arm bcos he was pushed from behind and landed in the drain.
I remember a tragedy reported in the newspaper, a pupil pushed a classmate over the sch parquet.
OT, but I hv a phobia for pushing. -
by the way, any one knows what would happen if the composition was written in pencil instead of ink?

Hmm, this phrase presupposes that the markers have already scored a portion of the papers to realise this trend. So to buck this trend, will markers go back to the marked papers to 挑骨头, i.e. tweak the awarding of marks?
Most likely is adjustment of the scores pegged to the grades. -

Can u post the link to the other page pls..

If the pencil ink fades , it will be somehow a blank piece of paper -
What do you think would be the consequences of this scenario for pri sch pupils:
an easy paper results in moderation of marks which causes a more stringent requirement to get a A* -

1. It seems that MOE is sending message that PSLE is not that difficult.

2. English and Maths papers are easy so it is likely that PSLE this year will be considered as easy.
3. I never heard of difficult Science PSLE papers.
4. If there should be one difficult paper in PSLE, it is more likely Chinese paper because:
4a. CL's Listening Comprehension was difficult. That means, the exam setters is expecting that kind of standard for P6 students.
4b. Recently more emphasis on the importance of Chinese language.
4c. If Chinese papers is diffficult, parents like me are already resigned to our fate because we know our child's CL standard is not good. It is unlikely we will make noise
