:celebrate:
:goodpost: I feel we have to get over this situation. Just feel happy if the kids were able to solve the Maths sums - it is a confidence booster. Leave the T-score calculation, the bell curve to the concerned authorities. Enjoy the wonderful feeling of doing a paper well :boogie:25hr mama:
Look at what the Singapore Education System has done to Singaporeans. During my time (don't guess my age, hehehe..), I would be over the moon if I ever get a easy paper. Now? Getting an easy paper is no celebration to call for, the world has changed..... Scoring 100 marks together with some others is not good, only if U score 100, and the rest are 99, then u feel good.
人在江湖 身不由己???

My elder boy said the same thing. -

Each year, my elder boy came back home, telling me he could easily full marks for xxx, every time both of us were disappointed.Jennifer:
When i know maths is a easy paper, i started to worry. This would mean that one mark different would cause much more in the t score.
I remember few years ago when my relative took the O level examination, she said all of the classmates said the Emaths and A Maths were very easy. After comparing the answer, they thought they would get A1. When the result was out, it os not so. Most of them got A2 and started to wondering why.
Each year, ah boy came home, saying the same stuff. I dun believe anymore :rotflmao:
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: How true, I have been through this many times. When back home after the exam - happy saying paper was super easy. When marks are out, lost marks here and there ...
Yaya :rotflmao: -
All the children have worked hard whether below average, average or top scorers. Read Today paper… the article stated correctly, exams should test what one studies in school and not to used to pick up talent…something along those lines. this puts everyone on par- those who can afford tuition and those who cannot.

My giraffe very good one, easy paper, hard paper, never mind lah, just enjoy my popcorn 1st. Hahaha...
:offtopic: I like the giraffe.
Would you say the same thing if your DD has not gotten a CO from NYGH and RGS?
Sorry ngl2010, I dun quite understand ur logic. What has having CO or not got to with this 'want' abt outshining others? :? -
Candy08:
I thought if T score is lower, it means the COP for top schools will be lower too since the lower T scores affect the top students as well. The COP is not fixed but dependent on the cohort's performance.Hi all,
I am worried as for d past two days exam my DD said a lot of her classmates find the test easy. She told me if like this a lot will get high score and the T- score will be lower this time. She is not worried if a lot get high score but worry if the T-score will able to meet the cut-off point of top schools.
Is she correct?
Thanks a lot. -

if no CO, then is very competitive to get into top schools since papers are easy, is this clear? or maybe to some they dun aim for top school but problem will still be the same..competitive... -

U mean if the papers are difficult, it would be less competitive to enter top schools? :?

If paper is difficult, but u r among the top few who can get most of them correct then you will score high ... Also the deviation is wide so likely will give u a good T score ... When everyone can do the paper n if u are smart but abit careless type like my dd then she loose her advantage altogether ....

Whether it will be less competitive to enter the top school or not I can't comment much but if you can get a high T score for your strong subject which happen to be a 'killer paper'at least u are 1 step closer to enter one of those top school.

To ensure good PSLE results, you need to be good in all subjects, be an all-rounder and not depend on luck (ie. difficult paper for your best subject).
