Hi,FHP:
I have heard many comments about Berries being more suitable for preschoolers. I am quite impressed by Hua Cheng (Bukit Timah) PSLE results :100% A/A* and have seen their materials. However Berries does have good materials too so in dilemma whether to stay in Berries or switch to Hua Cheng when DS is in P1 next yr.
Did they require placement test too like what LP is doing? Since they are sister company.
Do you mean LP & Berries are sister companies? -

Hi everyone,
Since the last time I posted, I’ve sent my children to Hua Cheng Bukit Timah Branch to enrich their Chinese. Thanks for the recommendation. My kids benefited a lot from there. Not only the teachers are caring, they practise rewrite corrections after their essay has been marked. I find this method very effective although it takes up some times. At least my kids realised what has been corrected and better sentences to be rephrased. Moreover, every lessons they were given a model essay of their previous compo for further improvement. Mommies, is hard work but it pays! I’m so proud of my older boy that even his lastest essay was praised by his tutor for his vast improvement. Hua Cheng Centre even display it on the Great Essay Board! As being a kiasu parent, I’ve even signed up this December Holiday Programme for them. Hahaha -

May I know what levels are your kids in? Are they enrolled for both enrichment and essay writing classes? -
For text book class
May I know how do they conduct their compo lesson? Do they get the kids to write first then go through after that?
Thanks. -
Both LP and HC are managed by the same parent company. HC requires placement test for both textbook and compo classes
For the textbook class, they don’t do compo at all. -
Voo
That was not what I was told.
I was told no placement test for both textbook and compo classes for us.
Could it be my boy is already p5?
Even for LP, I was not told of place ment test when I called.
I was told compo once a month for textbook class. Have they change the syllabus ? -
