Travel: China - Shanghai

Hangzhou - dh did hangzhou with the local tour by himself while i was at work. He did a 1 day tour and came back to Shanghai very late. His only grouse was that while the guide spoke about the nice restaurant facing the lake, they were not given the option to dine there. Instead, he said he had to dine at some place that looks like a canteen.

楼外楼？ I went there!! LOVE its 东坡肉、龙井虾仁、狮子头、花雕醉鸡、蟹粉芥兰...super shiok!

There is another famous dish called the beggar’s chicken.

My family enjoyed cycling round the West Lake.

I need some advice for my trip to Shanghai in December.

I'll b arriving in Shanghai on 8Dec midnight and leaving on 18Dec midnight. This means I have 9 full days in Shanghai. I am thinking of visiting Suzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing. How many days shall I allocate to these 3 locations? I'll be traveling with my 3kids aged 5,7 and 9.

Actually, with only 9 days to spare, I would pick 3 out of 4 destinations max. My pick would be Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou, leaving Nanjing for another trip.

I've made some plans for Shanghai alone so I'll stick to 2 days each at SZ and HZ. Moreover Scoot flies to NJ so I can always swing by to Shanghai again. :rahrah:

Where did you get the bikes? My family of 5 can cycle so it'll be a refreshing experience to do this.

Do consider a trip to Wuzhen from Hangzhou. It is a Watertown and very beautiful. The Xizha part of Wuzhen was where Bu bu jing xing was filmed. When we were there the posters of the serial was displayed to show the sites. Also consider watching Impression Westlake if you can. I love it :). A gd restaurant in Hangzhou is Green Tea restaurant at Long jing road.
