      It’s called Arcadia Restaurant.

Tried a Hong Kong style cafe at Taka think it was Xin Wang can’t be sure now n the noodle soup was just like instant noodles. Hence my impression of HK style cafes is that they serve instant noodles at ridiculous prices.

Yes, also don't be conned by many Korean Food stalls in aircond Food Centre that sell Kimchi Korean Noodle at $6 but they actually give you Maggie noodle (or Koka Instant Noodle) with Kimchi flavour.

If we wanna eat Maggie Noodle we no need to spend $6 lah ... :x

Thanks for the reminder! I've been conned once by one of those Korean foodcourt stalls.

I was so angry at the Korean stall at Compass Point.

            So, I asked the lady:

Me: Why you advertise with photo of Kimchi noodle but you give me Maggie noodle ?

            Lady: No lah.

Me: Then tell me, why are there so many maggie packets in your kitchen ?

Lady: Err..., it is not maggie noodle, we only use the satchet for taste ...

Me: You dare to say the noodle is not from maggie ? You you think this is right ?

Lady: Sorry lah, we only follow instruction from our Boss. Yes, both noodle & soup are from Maggie

Me: Can you call your Boss ? I want to see him ?

            Lady: He is not around.

Me: Can you please tell your Boss to stop conning people ? If want to sell Maggie Mee, just say you are selling Maggie Mee for $6

Lady: We only working to earn a living ...

The next day I went there, it was still the same .... sigh .... To me, the issue is not the $6 but rather being conned to eat maggie mee. It is because I was lazy & at the same time want to have better food (than maggie mee), I make an effort to get out of the house to look for food & at then end was MAGGIE MEE.

If I want maggie mee, I could have save time & cooked myself at home !!

You'd have thought they'd use the SHIN noodles even if they are made in Taiwan. That's at least more authentic 😛

Past Arcadia Restaurant in our walks before…Chirunner, can recommend any dishes?

Has anyone also considered Westlake that borderlines Farrer? We turn in from near King’s Arcade (DH drives, I don’t) through some of the smaller lanes rather than negotiate the crazy development at Farrer Road.

Ask for their signature dish- the hotplate prawns. We go for that n the usual cze char stuff- venison, claypot tofu, sweet n sour fish, French beans, sambal kangkong, lemon chicken…

Westlake’s been there for decades but somehow we’re not terribly fond of it…

Yah. the food always seems so goopy ... Don't know why it's so popular.

We kinda like the tried and tested 😉 at Westlake...or mebbe we're too hungry by then. I like the fact that for hotplate toufu, can ask them to hold the chilli for the kids 🙂 Don't care too much for their kong bak pau 😐
