i heard hk one is relatively cheap and small. it is good value but one has to bear the risk of higher chance of a q-jumping boorish crowd. if can take the chance and don't mind shoving and scolding back when pushed and won't get affected by it, hk disney should be good.

for me, i rather save and pick tokyo or beyond.

Fully agree! That's what we did. Decided to save up and spend our hols at Tokyo Disney instead. Totally, totally worth it. We went to Disneyland and DisneySea during the Dec hols 3 years ago. Had a fantastic time. We really felt as if we were on the \"happiest place on earth\" then.

Do you stay in disney hotel or around the vicinity? What is the average expenditure of the total travel package? I'd been to Hong Kong disney recently and am planning to go Disney Japan or San Francisco.

We did not stay at any of the Disney hotels. If I recall correctly, it was an airline promo (i think it was ANA) and we really enjoyed a good deal. I think we paid $1080 for adults and $998 for 11 yo and below. For that price, it included :

        - airfare excluding aiport taxes, security charges, etc.
        - 4D/3N at Shinagawa Prince Hotel (inc bfast)
        - complimentary shuttle service (2-way) to Disney Sea and Disneyland
        - 2-day entrance tickets to Disney Sea and Disneyland

We just paid extra for the airport surcharge and extra night stays at Tokyo. In all, I think we spent less than $1,400 per person.

Perhaps u can watch out for NATAS fair. They usually hv good promotions during that period!

That was quite cheap really. The last time I went with my wife and 2 kids to HK disneyland was around $3000 total inclusive of flight and accomodation. Peak period and we took SIA.

Its very crowded in Natas fair and I will only be left with the not so good deals as the better ones were already snapped up by those queue overnight javascript:emoticon(':D')

Say if you go on your own ...

Airfare: Northwest always has promo of S$500-$600.
Hotel: S$200-$250/night (can get better than Shinagawa Prince)
            Disney: S$400 for 2A1C (2 days pass)

So total for 4 nights stay about $2700-$3200 (excluding transfer to Disney), which is cheaper than booking through travel agent. That's why many people choose F&E to go Tokyo.

My family did that as well. F&E. Stayed at Shinagawa hotel which provides free shuttle bus to disneyland and sea. Very convenient too. My kids love Tokyo. We will probably go back again

Actually, sometimes no need to wait for NATAS fair - then must fight with the maddening crowd.

In fact, what we did was we went to the travel agency at Compass Point and then enquired about Tokyo Disney fare. We booked it under the Yokoso! Japan (Visit Japan) promotion. It turns out that there was an airline promo tie-up with the Yokoso! Japan campaign and we just grabbed it as the rates were reasonable.

However, do note that airline promo tie-ups only applies at participating travel agencies. So, do check if your travel agent is taking part in such a promo.

Happy Hunting for your holiday packages!!

just came back from tokyo. went to disneyland as well. it’s off peak period now, but still, some rides have to queue up and wait for about 10-20mins. other rides no queue.

I think plus point of going now is that there is not much queue most places. but it’s a little cold as it’s winter there now. there are a lot of people at the metro and trains! can’ believe it. even at 10pm!

                        Hi Lizuan76,

I budgeted 5k for 6 days trip to Tokyo. but I’m sure 4.5k can be done.

air fare: around $700 for adult and $550 for child
accomodation: around $1200 for 5 star outer skirt from metro/train station, but walkable
meal: around $800 or even lesser if u dun eat at restaurant
others (metro, shopping, gift, snacks, etc) : $500
