I am new to the educational system here, and would like to get some advice.

I would like to put my girls in a school that gives good exposure in Chinese. Is SAP school the correct choice? but almost all SAP schools are so competetive. Do anyone know if any other school that is also strong in Chinese in Boon Keng / Potong Pasir/Serangoon area?

          Thanks very much. 😄

              Hi,

My son is in a SAP school. His schoolmates are Chinese. Only MT offered is Higher Chinese. I really don’t know if SAP schools accept students who are non-Chinese.

Yeah, there are many angmohs who want to learn Chinese now. Most of them usually businessmen who hope their little darlings learn Mandarin to help daddy develop business in China.

many of the angmos' chinese language ability will put all of us to shame

I saw non-chinese kids in my kids’ SAP schools.

I think they do accept provided that the child is going to take chinese as MT.

I guess if non-Chinese kids are enrolled in SAP schools, it is understood that they will have to take HCL too, otherwise they cannot stay in the school without taking any MT. Some of these kids could have early exposure to Chinese language, or perhaps their parents want them to have a strong and better knowledge of Chinese.

I've asked the tutor the difference between the normal CL textbook and the Higher CL one. She told me there is an introductory chapter in the normal CL as compared to HCL which goes straight to the chapter itself.
Sorry if I am not able to explain myself clearly. 😛
