I have just received a letter informing us of P1 orientation etc for 2014 for my DD2

The house that she is assigned is different from her elder sis.
Is it the usual practice?

I had hoped that it will be the same so as she can use her sis's PE tee shirts.

Can i write in to the school with regards to that??

Also, she will be in P1/10.
I had heard somewhere that the school usually placed the students with siblings in the first few classes, and followed by phase 2 etc...
are they adopting a different practice this time??

Hi rinoa, I have also received the orientation letter for my DD2. She has been assigned the same house as her brother. She will be in 1/4 next yr, that's Integrity 4 I believe, so this is consistent with our understanding of how the placement is normally conducted for P1 pupils. Not sure why your DD2 is put in 1/10 class though, but I guess this does not really matter. Did you check with the school? Anyone else has received their orientation letters?

I think they base on GEP round 1 and SA2 results. But even if one does not get past round 1, a good SA2 result will still open up opportunities for the kid in other programs such as E2K etc.
Dun worry, PHPPS has lots of programs for the high ability pupils.

But E2K is for P5 & 6 only rite? Or issit for P4 as well?

Presently ds has twice weekly sch team training. I'm slightly concerned these enrichment programmes will clash with his CCA and in the end he has to pick one over another. Best is everything spreads themselves nicely across the week.

But for GE schools .. to be in the inter-mingling class ... like TLTT
it is the top 5% .. not all who get into round 2 will be in.

I also tot it can't be based on clearing round 1 alone as it'll be a logistics nitemare for sch to cater for so may pupils. 5% would have cut the total number down by half. Mabbe that's how it'll work in PH too.
