For maths Olympiad, it’s voluntarily and you need to pay for the course. As for competition, my boy did not participate any. If I m not wrong, u can participate on yr own. And I do not tink there’s any benefits to enter sec sch. But if you do win in any competition, you could get it recorded in their report book. I let me boy take maths Olympiad is because he is gd in matha n had great interest. N I felt that it did help him in his academic maths, makes him understand and do qn faster. He scored mostly 95 or above and this ca2 a perfect 100.

                Hi minmin27,

The Math Olympiad invites were given out to 6 pupils from my child’s class. What about urs? Like the letter stated, these are the ones who displayed potential? Anyway, trust it will only do more gd n no harm. Heard from a teacher, this program is subsidised by sch so we just need to pay that small amount which I don’t think we can get the kind of pricing elsewhere. I have given my approval and my only concern is the class size. Any idea?

Hi Precious050911, yr child is in p2? It was given to 5 of them in my boy’s class. I have opted in with the thought that it will help to improve him in his Maths subject. I just spoke to Ms Chang who is the teacher in~charge and she said that all p3 kids have to go for remedials after class. If my boy opt in, he does not have to go for usual maths class but this maths olympiad.

How many remedial class / days to stay back …for p3? I hv the impression chinese, cca, now math olympiad or math remedial just for p3…gosh.

How do all parents handle the pick up after sch? When usually u let them take public transport home?
