      刚刚结束了三月的假期班。 😂

      有一个新报名的小学生,十分聪慧,思想敏捷,想象力和构思能力都很不错,可以独立地完成文章,内容充实。详读之下,彷如一杯干净透彻的白开水,还没经过调味。只因文章乏乏无味,词语运用太过于单调。

      像这类有潜力的学生,我们就是要训练他的实力!多多锻炼他下笔的功夫,如写作技巧、运用好词好句衬托文章色彩、如何写出文章的重点等等。

      如果你家有这样的小孩,一起和他融入无穷的想象力,并鼓励他写出自己的故事,再在字里行间添加一些技巧和好词好句等,相信不到3个月进步一定很大!

          Hi Yan Ling,

          Yes, we do have June holiday Program PSLE crash course for P6.

          The schedule is from Group1: 4,5,6,7,11,12 of June or Group 2: 13,14,18,19,20,21 June

          Choose one of the group.

          2 types of course: Compo, Compre and revision (10 am to 12pm) or oral test skills (1pm to 230pm)

          You can choose one this.

          Course fee is $270 per course. Sign up two courses will have 10% discount.

          Max class size is approx. 8 students.

            Recently alot of parents call up or PM us asking whether we ask the students to memorise essay or how we teach the students to write a good compo. We are thankful to these parents who are interested in our creative writing methodologies. We would like to share a few points here (i think writing in English is better for most parents) 😄 :


            1. Active learning in composition writing is much more effective. Students should be learning the techniques to compose an essay. Training is needed to make students identify which writing techniques should be applied for a particular essays. Teachers will follow our pedagogy to inspire the students to think and analyse the pictures or situation. The thinking process will leave a longer impressions in one's memories so that students will follow the similar path of thinking whilst come across with any other essays.

            Memorising essay will just limit the students imagination as well as learning horizon to expand their writing ability.

            2. Copying essay during lesson is not encouraged at all! But students are asked to copy certain good phrases and memorise them. Certain good phrases suit certain level of students and students are capable to use these phrases in their composition writing frequently.

            3. Further more, our students especially those in P1 to P3, maynot know how to complete an essay independently due to limited vocabularies and phrases as well as techniques, we will inspire them through our pedagogy to expand their storylines freely but logically. Later, teachers will make necessary corrections or adjustments.

            We don't spoon feed the students, make them think and analyse and brain storm! They don't have to be gifted to write a good compo, we should make them fall in love with this beautiful language and embrace it.

            If your child/children are memorising essay or copying essay to learn writing an essay, pls don't. We have a special Creative Writing holiday programs this June. Children will be learning different technique in creative writing from this short 6 days Purely essay writing with 6 essays to write and about 100 good phrases to learn. Limited vacancies, only 10 students max in one class.

                  小六会考已告一段落,恭喜寒窗苦读多年的小六生们,终于完成了六年小学生涯。

                  可喜可贺的是本校的小六生应该对这次的口试和作文考题不会陌生 -看图作文(类似作者遇见流浪小猫而想要领养…)和命题作文≪我的好邻居≫, 因为本校已在考试前让他们锻炼类似的图片和文章,必然在考场写作时,灵感和思路源源不断,写作手法驾轻就熟。家长们对于孩子那信心满满的表现也纷纷作出满意的反馈。

                  老师们衷心希望你们能马到功成。

                    Dear parents pls note that The Novena Goldhill Center is the ONLY branch for Zhou’s Academic Studio. Recently we have found that another center who claims is Zhou LaoShi and copying almost 90% of our information about "Course" from our website and put up on its website. This is unprofessional and there may have some hidden agendas behind.


                    Please note that this center did not hold the past track records of PSLE and other results as we do. The teacher may just happen to have a surname of Zhou 周. So be very mindful.

                      为了培养学生对华文的兴趣,掌握必背词汇以及提高华文的写作和阅读理解能力,我们从11月19日到12月13日开设了华文假期课程,其中包括小六预备班,小五、小六的口试班,以及小二小三的写作班。

                      每个课程为期两个礼拜,从周二至周五。小二小三的写作班重在打基础,掌握必须的好词好句,让学生掌握怎么写开头,结尾,以及如何表达让文章看起来更美。二年级学生们已经不是第一次接触作文了,对于四幅图的作文已经司空见惯了,在老师的教导下,很快掌握了好词好句,并有几位优秀学员已经开始学习并运用三、四年级词汇表达了。他们是如何记住这些好词好句的呢?其实,我们追求的是在快乐中学习,在兴趣中加强,为了让学生记住刚刚讲过的好词好句和成语,老师会安排许多游戏环节来加强词语的掌握,比如:你比划,我来猜;找字组好词;填词大比拼;词语表演秀等等学生喜欢的游戏,通过分组游戏或比赛环节,让学生很容易理解词语的意思,也能够很快的记住并运用到实际的生活中,当然,还有重要的写作中。除此以外,低年级的学生都有BREAK TIME &SNACK 时间,目的是为了培养孩子们在课堂上的集中注意力。

                      “下课了,同学们一窝蜂地跑出课室,他们都等不及要去操场玩了,听完这个句子你能想到哪些好词好句。。。。。。”“我知道,我知道,迫不及待、急急忙忙、急匆匆。。。。。。”二年级的尚仁脱口而出,同学们也争先恐后地大声念出自己知道的好词好句。第二周的假期班已经开始咯,同学们在这里不仅学到了很多写作和口试的新词、技巧和方法,也度过了一个快乐的假期。

                        有许多家长咨询对于周学院是如何进行学前教育和小一课程的。我们在此留言分享。我们的学前班,从K2开始,一步一步引导孩子掌握基本字、词语、短句和汉语拼音的学习,每一堂课都是独立的主题、游戏、故事和儿歌。小朋友们能够在短期内掌握不同层面的知识并培养他们学习华文的能力,进而增加对这语文的信心。也有许多家长分享他们最担心的是孩子没有信心用华语交谈。在此,我们希望家长可以每天抽出15分钟的时间,讲讲孩子喜欢听的故事,之后可以问一些简单的问题,鼓励他们回答,对不对并不重要。如果他们不会回答,可以慢慢的引导他们。千万不可以急于求事,要他们在开始时就说很多,如果没达到你心中的标准就放弃。 应该以循序渐进的方法,要有耐心的让孩子们慢慢的建立信心去说。要看到成果,至少需要花上几个月的时间。如果可以的话,规定一周里的几天是讲华语的。如果讲得好的话,就可以给一些小礼物或画星星来奖励。

                        针对小学一年级的教育,我们注重基础认字、词语、短句以及小段文章的学习,除此之外,我们增加了SHOW&TELL环节,在SHOW&TELL 课程中,需要让每个学生在台前独立完成表演,目的是为了让孩子们开口说华文,大胆表达。并录制成VIDIO,分享到我们学校的FACEBOOK中,家长可进学校FACEBOOK看自己孩子的表现,明白孩子的优点和缺点,家长和老师互相协助沟通让孩子获得更大的进步。上正课时,则利用讲义材料完成基本字词、句子以及拼音的学习,课堂形式活泼,利用拼音游戏,辅助儿歌以及分组竞赛来配合课堂教学。让孩子们在愉快的学习氛围中掌握华文听说读写。
