hi, any parents whose kid are in the GEP at NHPS? Anyone can share some information on the GEP at NHPS? Any tips to prepare the child in the transition from mainstream to GEP? thks!

They took a Chinese dignostic test on the 3rd day for the P4 GEP. Anyone know whether they are grouped by the dignostics test resullts? Have they offered BEP ? Which form class does it fall under?

The school is starting the enrichment programme next week. It is conducted by Edu-Net. Does anyone has any experience with them? Are their programmes effective? So used to just "googling" everything but there is nothing on the net about them. Wonder how good are their programmes. Anyone has any comments?

If I am not wrong Edu Net classes are conducted on every Wednesday. I got to know the owner of Edu net when my child goes to Kinderland. Mrs Pauline Ong had grandchildren going to Kinderland back then. She was once the Principal of Henry Park. For the enrichment classes conducted at Nan Hua, Mrs Pauline Ong herself and some of her teachers (who are of similar age group like her) came to Nan Hua. I was actually shocked to see her personally at Nan Hua to teach… rather impressed. She does not need the money at all. She is doing it out of passion. My child does not attend the enrichment classes but I would think she knows what she is doing. Also she did publish a book or two some time back on writing or something like that. I would think the quality would be there. I am not related to her or have any interest in her organisation. Just a sharing. Hope that helps.

                  Hi forgetful,

Edu-Net is name of an enrichment centre… I believe based in Bishan bomb shelter. They would conduct Creative Writing, Challenging Math & Comprehension/Cloze classes in Nan Hua on every Wednesday. Like I said it is owned by the ex principal of Henry Park Ms Pauline Ong and she has a number of teachers (like 4) who are also retirees like her who would come by Nan Hua to teach. My personal opinion is that she is doing it more out of passion and dedication to her ambition rather than for the money. But I have no idea how it is where the standard is concerned but I would think it is value for money.

Nan Hua usually sends out the circular on their courses at the beginning of each semester… check with General Office for Edu Net number and call them to enquire more.

Thanks for your information. I did call them up. Spoke to a Mr Cheng. He told me they have been doing the enrichment for the past 14 years. My son is already in the enrichment programme. I will see how it goes, if my DS1 benefits from it.

                        thanks!
