when a child grow up to say to 18 or 21 years old, is it possible or anyway to ask KK hospital to erase past medical history that child is autistic ?

because have a relative whose daughter is mild autistic.
but she able to talk, coping ok in Mainstream.
in fact in school, nobody know she is autistic.
She can greet people, \"Hi auntie / Teacher, how are you today ?\"

my relative don't want KK hospital to keep medical record.
because afraid that next time when she grow up apply for job, this record may become a stumbling block.

But medical reports/records are confidential. Donch think there's a need to be so paranoid

Don't think employers conduct due diligence on medical records. But it may need to be declared when signing up for insurance coverage if it is part of the benefits.

I am thinking of sending my doter to some Chinese enrichment next year. She will be 7 yo next year. Besides Berries like what other parents say, are there any other Chinese enrichment programs that you know of for special needs children? Do share your experience.

If you can get rid of the medical record, would be good. My son has a record and i made the wrong mistake to get him assessed before getting him covered under insurance.

I tried to apply for a few companies but was rejected straight. Only just recently, i managed to get him covered without any loading/exclusions.

It would be good to find out why you were rejected by other companies. If it's coz the risk is high, then why is this other company taking the risk?

I have no comments on the underwriting guidelines~ I have declared everything, so there is nothing to dispute during claims.


Previous companies do not bother to let my boy go for a re-assessment by their own panel of doctors and deem that autism is a high risk case, so was rejected outright.

Recently one agent called to meet me, and since he is from a different company, i decided to give it another go. He said that he will try his best to get his underwriting side to do a assessment on my boy. I went for the checkup with my boy and have a few specialist's assess on his intellectual, cognitive, interactive, behavioural aspects..

Just last week, he informed me that it was approved and there is no loading or exclusions at all. :boogie: It was a \"borderline\" case he mentioned.

Congrats, good for you.

For my son's insurance, I bought for him before he was diagnose. Now kind of regret I didnt get the highest graded medishield plan for him. But then, its better than nothing.

Yes, before going for any diagnoses, please buy all the essential insurances for the kid.
