Hi, PDs had advised I visit ENT specialist which I did and tonsil surgery was suggested for my son’s enlarged tonsils. However I was apprehensive as he was still young and subsequently on a visit to a GP, he suggested that it was not serious enuf to warrant a immediate surgery and suggested to wait a few years to see if the situation improves. I’m glad I did as he no longer breathes as loudly as before when he sleeps.

My friend’s son went through the surgery. It helped for a while but the tonsils enlarged again.

      Just to share with you.

Oh I didn't know tonsils can become enlarge again after surgery.

My son snores at times too and the doctor ever told me his tonsils are a bit big.

I am also thinking whethet to let him go through surgery.

I was told unless it is such that the child cannot breathe, otherwise wait a few years as the throat airway will be bigger as the child grows. My son had the snoring problem since less than a year old. Now he's 9, touchwood, ok without surgery 🙂
