      Dear KingRascal,

      Thanks for your reply.

What do they do during Asb?

ER is conducted by Mdm Rafeah (head of english), so I guess it is to do with english?!?

How do you find the teachers in general? Are you in parents support group?

Asb - er..haha, i have no idea. I never ask my boy! Guess it would be similar to our times, whereby there'd be talks, presentation, etc.

        Hv pm you.

        Dear KingRascal,

        Thanks for your reply.

My girl's Asb is between 9.00 to 9.30 on Tuesday (once a week only). What do they do during Asb?

I just got the bus card from the driver today, in the end, I am charged $90 just for the return trip from sch to home.

If the sch bus fare’s rate of increase is like that every year, i think by the time they go P6, we could be paying $200 a mth.

BTW, my boy has not got his timetable yet. is it normal? Shall I ask the teacher or just wait?

          TIA.

Not sure if it's normal or not but it happened to my DS last year. He only took his timetable in the second week.

              Hi GingerSilver

Guess by now you have figured out what ER is πŸ˜„
It's Exploring Reading. I believe you should have that book. Yes, it's under English. Not all teachers use this term. My son's timetable does not have this term but his friends in a couple of other classes have it stated.

                Hi,

I had changed my email and coincidentally forgotten my password.

My son is enjoying himself in Primary 1. He is in the UNITY class.

Thanks for clarifying the ER period - I was wondering and when asking my son he says Mdm Rafeah everyday reads stories only

There are so many new terms and acronyms, I think the teachers should make it a point to introduce an acronym page at the end of the Orientation handbook for parents.

                :stupid: :?:

My son came home unhappy that he could not go for his morning walk to PE on Friday as it was raining but said that the hall exercises were so funny.

Anyone going for the Maths talk next week? Still thinking whether to go or not.

                  :celebrate:

Had anyone guessed the CO in MU?

I called the office and guess what, they also do not know what the CO is but they did tell me that MU is music.

Ha ha my son told me after his first mass walk 2 weeks ago that he felt very bored cos they just walked there and u-turn back. πŸ˜›

Abt the CO, did u ask the form teacher? I reckon that some of those acronyms are teacher/class-specific cos when I look at my son's schedule and compared to that u folks mentioned here, there is no such terms in there.

did ur son's class teacher give u her mobile?

My son would also be upset when the walk is called off each time if the weather is bad. The dance they had in the hall is called Chicken Dance

Yes, the acronyms are teacher-specific. My son's teacher does not use ER so it did not appear on his timetable. The timetables are done by the form teachers themselves.
